For anglers, the name "Miramichi" means one thing - Atlantic Salmon Fly Fishing"! For non-anglers and families, the same name can mean canoeing, kayaking, tubing trips and a delightful vacation. My wife Jackie and I visit the Miramichi often (lived in the area for 7 years) and like to stay at Miramichi Country Haven Lodge. Byron Coughlan, the owner, taught... More

We drove the Miramichi scenic route from Miramichi to Fredericton. It is a nice drive and quite wild with a good chance to see some wildlife along the way and enjoy some beautiful views of the Miramichi River and some very old wooden covered bridges. We stopped at the Atlantic Salmon Museum in Doaktown which is roughly at the midpoint... More

My family and I have been tubing several times with Steward's tubing and always had lots of fun. Their staff is very friendly and helpful. Once you've paid, you board their bus and they bring you to the river were you will be departing. They have staff at the riverbed to hand you your tube. They make sure you have... More

This mighty river is both salt and fresh water and boast some of the best salmon fishing in the area. (Some locals recommend a guide for decent fishing). For a non-fisherman, this river is gorgeous and serene. The combination of history and local contemporary charm make it a sweet spot to meander through, whether solo, couples, or families. There are... More

Now that all the pulp mills have been closed for several years, our beautiful river is so clean .. great for swimming, boating or just enjoy the view and great sunsets. There are several lodges where you can enjoy a salmon fishing experience and bass season is open for 15 days the first part of August. Take a river cruise... More

The Miramichi river, famous for atlantic salmon winds its way through dozens of New Brunswick communities, both french and english that are as different as the river itself.... More

Te Mighty Miramichi River is world renown for Atlantic Salmon. This river spans several small communities, all whom will welcome any visitor warmly. Book a day cruise on the Max Aitken, with captain Azade Hache. View the beautiful river vistas as well as many historic sites such as Beaubears Island and Middle Island. Both are sites that retells some of... More

If you are capable of sitting in a tube this is for you. Hot summer days, and a cool river to make it all happen. Tie your cooler to the tube, sit back for a few hours of drifting on the shallow upper reaches of the Miramichi River. Does not cost much $10 perhaps and they pick you up at... More

We have been lucky enough to have spent time on the river 2 years ago and this year. This year was with the Tall ships so we get to see the stunning views from the wonderful water. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with great people - GO :-)
