Rainy day, what do you do...go to a museum not expecting much. Well, surprise, surprise as Homer Pyle said, this is a great little museum developed by people who really care about preservation and accurate historical data. Start at the Exhibition Hall.and the attendant will provide you with a basic overview of the community. The more questions you ask the... More

As other reviewers have said, a gem of a local museum. We had thought of going to see the tide up at Hopewell rocks but having been to see the floor, we were seduced by the sign at the end of the rocks that advertised the museum. Staffed by locals, the museum is a mini Mystic seaport, ie all original... More

I have to confess to being a museum junkie so I tend to stop at small community museums that most others speed by. However, like a junkie I seldom get a good fix from these visits. One can only tolerate so many displays of chipped china or poorly sewn samplers. Therefore it's always a very pleasant surprise to come across... More

We stopped for a bathroom break! Two hours later we were tearing ourselves away since it is such an interesting museum. The jail cell is actually a highlight, even the prisoners grafitti on the wall is still there. The court house is pretty neat too. It's like walking into a village frozen in time. The guides are great, bursting with... More

It was a rainy day, so we thought we'd check out the museum b/c we heard great things. The technology is great...lots of tv's & interactive things. The most interesting was the jail cell where a young man was wrongly convicted of murder...it changed the way Canada law is for the future. There's lots of artifacts too!

We went to Hopewell Rocks and were very impressed but, after that, we accidentally found the Albert County Museum, about two miles down the road. This is truly a hidden gem!!! How often have you found a multi-building museum that is filled with local items that were converted to a museum. There is a court house with the actual furniture... More

The museum, the courthouse, the records office, the stories, the Prime Minister are all fascinating and well done, but it is the original graffiti on the walls of the old jail that I found of particular interest. The words, drawings and the wistful meandering thoughts and poetry of some of the inmates amazed me in that there was nothing mean-spirited... More

Nice little museum. I wish that there was a staff person who could have answered more questions about the area around.
