I like many others saw this spot on The Amazing Race Canada, and had to go and see it for myself! From the grounds to the buildings, it does not disappoint! They also have from what I have heard a wonderful Farmers Market on Saturdays! I unfortunately was there on a Sunday! I highly recommend starting your tour of Albert... More

This little-known museum was recommended to us by the owner of the B & B in Alma, New Brunswick. It was well worth the visit. Perhaps one of the best historical sets we've seen in our world-wide travels. Each of the original buildings contains fantastic materials; in the Records Office you can actually sit down and look through the by-law... More

We stopped by the Albert County Museum on our way back from Hopewell Rocks. The curator of the museum provided a very informative tour of their various buildings, most of which are not original to their sites. There's a lot of local history to that specific area, but the highlight is the jail and courthouse that figured in the murder... More

Thank you for your complimentary review. I thought that it would be best if I clarified a couple of the points that you made. My summer student Docents are the ones that provide the general guided tours for visitors. I, as Curator, offer special Museum Secrets tours that take you behind the scenes to see and hear some of the... More

Rainy day, what do you do...go to a museum not expecting much. Well, surprise, surprise as Homer Pyle said, this is a great little museum developed by people who really care about preservation and accurate historical data. Start at the Exhibition Hall.and the attendant will provide you with a basic overview of the community. The more questions you ask the... More

As other reviewers have said, a gem of a local museum. We had thought of going to see the tide up at Hopewell rocks but having been to see the floor, we were seduced by the sign at the end of the rocks that advertised the museum. Staffed by locals, the museum is a mini Mystic seaport, ie all original... More

I have to confess to being a museum junkie so I tend to stop at small community museums that most others speed by. However, like a junkie I seldom get a good fix from these visits. One can only tolerate so many displays of chipped china or poorly sewn samplers. Therefore it's always a very pleasant surprise to come across... More

We stopped for a bathroom break! Two hours later we were tearing ourselves away since it is such an interesting museum. The jail cell is actually a highlight, even the prisoners grafitti on the wall is still there. The court house is pretty neat too. It's like walking into a village frozen in time. The guides are great, bursting with... More
