Had a great 3 day trip with them. I know I was probably lucky with the weather, etc. but saw an amazing amount of wildlife. Our guide, Brie, was excellent (another review tags her as condescending - I did not find that). First time I have had someone cook for me in the backcountry - I could get used to... More

My husband and I went on a three day kayak tour with North Island Kayak Tours at the end of August 2013. We did the 3 day kayak trip and it was amazing! We had Josh as our guide and he was excellent. He had a lot of knowledge about whales as well as the area. We saw many humpback... More

This was a highlight of our trip to Canada. We booked prior to leaving the UK and every question was answered promptly. The weather was not great on our departure day and we did have the opportunity to get a refund if we preferred not to travel. Although some time since we had done any Kayaking we decided to go.... We had a wonderful trip with our guides Dave and Stephanie. We did a one night Kayak trip and camped on Kaikash Beach. It was truly breathtaking. Dave and Steph looked after all our needs and made sure everyone was safe. We saw humpback whales, sea lions, otters, dolphins, eagles, starfish etc. they were also full of information about the... We are ten good friends from a Danish sea kayak club (Rungsted Kajakklub), who crossed half way through the world to get a once-in-a-life-time kayak experience off Vancouver Island. And that’s what we got! Eight fantastic days together with our great guides, Brad and Joel. They took us out in the wilderness with the snow covered mountains as backcloth, where... More

My wife and I took a half-day morning kayak trip. The day started off foggy, but it burned off about half way into our trip. We saw two black bears, minke whale, and many jumping salmon. Our guide was really good (Jam), and he provided us with a lot of insight on the local ecosystem (showed us sea stars, etc).... More

My husband and I did this trip in early August and we both really really enjoyed it. Our group was small and everyone was great company and Josh our guide was fantastic. Not only does he cook AMAZING blueberry pancakes but he did everything in his power to make sure we saw orca. Which we did and was certainly worth... More

We opted for the one-day (6 hour) excursion. Nice, slow paddle along the shore, but very little sea life. We saw porpoises at a distance, many jumping salmon, a few eagles, and some jellyfish and starfish under water. On another day we might have encountered orcas. But we did not this day. One guide ("Jam") was great - positive, friendly,... More

To say the experience was truly amazing is an understatement! Our guide, Josh, Was very patient with us as we set up and set off. 2 day tour is recommended with an overnight camp, book in advance. The food and camp were really good and added to the adventure. We were very lucky and had orca whales less than 50ft... More

I chose NIK for their proximity to the area we would kayak and camp. Within 20 mins of paddling, there was Orca. Three out of the next four days on the water, we saw Orca. There was Dall's porpoise, salmon, eagles, deer, seals, seabirds, and even a distant humpback seen from camp. We saw wildlife everyday. Our guide Wendy amazed.... More
