We heard about Elephant Island Orchard Wines at the Penticton Visitors Center and made a point to get there after hiking on the KVR. It was so much more than we expected. We tasted all the wines available. We were well informed on each one. We decided to get Mama Elephant Methode Champenoise. We used it to celebrate my husband's... More

This orchard winery is well worth the visit. It's nice to have something different, as this winery only offers fruit wines. Their raspberry dessert wine is to die for and their staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend a stop here!

We were treated to a really nice sitting area under trees overlooking the valley. The Pink Elephant was great but the most amazing was the Framboise liquid raspberry heaven! They also have a cherry wine, a must stop on your wine tour.

I did a wine tour and have to say this was my favorite one of all! I guess I love fruit wines... I loved that we got to do our tasting on the deck as it was a relaxing atmosphere. I really wish all the wineries were like this one. The orchard is beautiful, the staff are very nice. Our... More

Seven years ago we lived in the Kootenays and used to visit wineries in the Okanagan a lot. I have never been a fan of fruit wines, but somehow Elephant Island is different. The winery is a bit tricky to get into (you drive down the hill past it and then loop back up into the orchard) and the parking... More

I had heard from other reviewers that the tastings here were free, and that you were welcome to bring your own picnic. We stopped at the General Store (very slim pickings here!), got some cheese and crackers, and made our way to Elephant Island. The friendly, bubbly host offered us a cutting board and knife and we sat out on... More

I enjoyed the adventure.....the Fruit wines were fantastic! This is the first time I have tried dessert wine and absolutely loved them. The crab apple and apricot were the 2 I purchased...however, I would have bought everything. The staff was very pleasant and the atmosphere was great. You could bring your own lunch and sit on the patio and have... More

We have never before been fans of fruit wines but we are now! We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor and they weren't sickly sweet like other fruit wines.

Del and Miranda have done something very special here with Elephant Island Orchard Wines. Aside from recently creating some award winning traditional wines (despite what the naysayers said - go there...you'll see what I'm saying), they've been able to create some fabulous fruit wines that are sure to please even the most discerning palates...and if fruit wines aren't to your... Elephant Island is a great winery stop along Naramata Bench. These are outstanding fruit wines, on par with the region's grape wines. Yes. Really. Tastings are free. The wines range from sparkling (apple-based sparkling wine) to dark cherry port. It's family friendly too -- there's a little play area for kids.
