We arrived late in the day so the Capitol Building was closed but the grounds around the capital are beautiful, with art, flowers, descriptive plaques, arboretum, etc. Very enjoyable.

The state capitol grounds are very clean and well kept, took some great pics. There were not many people around so parking was good. WE even got to do a "Rocky" picture on the front steps.

Beautiful building. Very tall and stands out in the prairie landscape. Front construction going on now. Adjacent is the ND Heritage Center, but we did not have the time to explore it. The tours are on the hour. Free postcards at the visitor information desk, as well as other tourist information.

From the outside you wouldn't believe this is a state capital building, as it looks more like an office building. There are a few floors inside that are interesting to see. The first two floors have portraits of famous North Dakotans. You can also view the Senate and House Chambers. The best part of the capital building is the view... More

We like to stop and see all the state capitols if we are on a trip. North Dakota's capitol in Bismarck is a high rise building that looks rather ordinary. But the grounds were immaculately kept and they spelled out "North Dakota" in flowers on the front lawn. It was easy to get to from the Interstate and worth a... More

State Capitol Building alot to see inside you can even meet the Governor when you are there as they are not selfish in meeting those who visit. Go to the top and see over the city and the Missouri River.

Lived here my whole life and still love the Capitol. We just went there for a small walk, and it never disappoints.

It is one of 3 skyscraper Capitols in the U.S. it sits on many acres of land, which are beautifully manicured. on the Capitol grounds also sits the State Heritage Center Museum recently remodeled and expanded... Had a wonderful 45 minute tour of the unique somewhat modern capitol. Interesting that Senate, House of Rep. & Court House have live broadcasts of daily goings on.
