Art deco on 1st floor is attractive and view ok if it is a clear day and you like flat land. Go if you have 15 minutes after the Heritage Center.

We have visited many of the state capitols. The North Dakota capital is more like a high rise office building. there are several hallways that offer background and other interesting inforamtion about teh state. there is verh little in the way of ornate construction such as murals and chandiliers which are often seen in other state capitols. No dome. we... More

We enjoyed the full tour. The guide was very informative and knowledgeable of all areas over the capital building and how all functions of the government. We did also appreciate the local accents.

I've visited a lot of state capitol buildings, and this one is unlike all the others. It has a great art deco feel, and a lot of neat brass and wood inside. It's a bit plain, as it was built during the depression to replace one that had burned. Everything is accessible, and I appreciated one gentleman in particular showing... More

The state capitol in North Dakota is a high-rise building, one of only 2-3 in the US. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the tour and our tour guide who was well-spoken and very knowledgeable. Well worth the time to tour the capitol.

After seeing so many state capitols with the traditional dome, it was a surprise to see the North Dakota state Capitol be a tall building. Being from California, the 19 stories did not amaze me - but for someone living in North Dakota it is a must do to see for miles and miles...

This unique building has several hidden secrets that makes it worthwile to take the guided tour. The view from the top allows one to see many miles in all directions. The materials used in the building including the woods are very beautiful.

One of only four sky towers in the country, The others are Nebraska, Louisiana and Florida. This a must do and awesome if you get Darlene for a tour guide. Darlene did a good job and she was a good tour guide for the following reason: 1). The tour was not rushed. 2). No korny/corny jokes 3). She made everything... More

Tallest building in Bismarck-19 stories. The new cafeteria was relocated to top floor with beautiful views of the city. The capitol building itself and the surrounding office buildings house the state's legislative and judicial branches, as well as many government agencies.
