This unique building has several hidden secrets that makes it worthwile to take the guided tour. The view from the top allows one to see many miles in all directions. The materials used in the building including the woods are very beautiful.

One of only four sky towers in the country, The others are Nebraska, Louisiana and Florida. This a must do and awesome if you get Darlene for a tour guide. Darlene did a good job and she was a good tour guide for the following reason: 1). The tour was not rushed. 2). No korny/corny jokes 3). She made everything... More

Tallest building in Bismarck-19 stories. The new cafeteria was relocated to top floor with beautiful views of the city. The capitol building itself and the surrounding office buildings house the state's legislative and judicial branches, as well as many government agencies.

Almost the tallest place in ND, either walk or ride to the top for a look around and a visit to the tallest cafe in Bismarck!

It is one of the four skyscraper state capitols in USA as mentioned by the capitol guider. At the mean time, it does not have dome. There are some more interesting facts about the building and history.

We just had the morning to visit so we walked through the arboretum, gardens, among the buildings and had nice stroller trails the whole time. Great spots for photo ops and even saw a family doing a photo shoot on the lawn in front of the capitol. Didn't get inside for a tour - maybe next time.

The North Dakota State Capitol was constructed on a tight budget during the 1930s after the first state capitol was destroyed by fire. It doesn't look particularly interesting from the outside but a guided tour will tell you what North Dakota is all about. The views from the top floor are excellent and the tour guide was very knowledgable. There... More

This is one of the only capitol buildings in the USA without a dome. It was completed in 1934, in the midst of the great Depression, after the capitol burned down in 1930. It is constructed of incredible stonework, metal and woods, many of which are simply not available anymore. It is part of a park-like ground that has a... More
