The place is not yet done so when I visited (SEP 2014) there wasn't much about the Euro-American impact on North Dakota. It is, however, soon to open that gallery and what is open is done very well. Indians, fossils, minerals. Well done!

Not all exhibits are completed or open yet but this is a large, modern, impressive facility that tells the story of North Dakota with pictures, audio, and interpretive exhibits. The docents are knowledgeable and helpful and you could spend many hours here exploring the many facets of ND's history. I can't wait to go back when it's fully open and... More

The new areas are nicely remodeled. Missed some of the traditional attractions such as the log cabin, police car, and horse to sit on. I hear they will be in the section that was not currently open. A good variety for kids and adults. Would have liked a few more hands on exhibits for younger kids.

Beautiful building on the lovely capital grounds. Includes wonderful examples of creatures who roamed the earth millions of years ago. Also impressive Native American works of beading, baskets, etc. there is currently no admission to see these wonderful displays!

Beautiful venue. I like the fact that the displays include interaction for children. The gift store is great and a wonderful selection of books for sale. Having the parking out front is a great improvement from what it was before.

I liked the fact they were open everyday but I did expect more on the native Americans, it was a beautiful place and so glad we went.

For as long as it took to build this place (and it's still not finished), I thought it would be larger and more impressive. The exhibits are laid out well, but there is insufficient information given - lots of unanswered questions after we left.

We were very impressed with the history and Native American cultural displayed. There were some areas we could not explore due to expansion of the center.
