Masonboro Island is an uninhabited island reachable only by boat. I purchased tickets for a kids "Eco Cruise" offered by Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours during our trip to Wrightsville Beach during the last week of July 2015. I read through the FAQs on the web site after spending $95 for the three of us to take the tour. I had... More

Called captain John to book a crab tour for my family. He told me we were all set, he would call me back to get credit card info, but we would be good to go for the trip that Friday. Showed up early and waited on dock, he never came. Finally spoke to him on phone, he said that I... More

Our first trip with Captain Joe was last summer to Masonboro Island. The island is gorgeous. We saw all kinds of fish and crabs. Can't say enough about Captain Joe. His knowledge of the area and the wildlife is awesome. He even stopped the boat on the way back to let us see dolphins! We are doing the Masonboro trip... More

We took the boat with Captain Joe and Chelsea to Masonboro Island. What a fantastic place! Lots of shells and other cool things to see. My kids loved to play in the water as the surf was not as rough as on Carolina Beach. We had a great time and plan to go back with every visit. Chelsea was a... More

Captain Joe was an excellent guide and Masonboro island was fantastic. We went for the morning trip to the island. Captain Joe gave us all the details we would need for a perfect visit to the island. He made sure we had water and our essentials. On the way back he actually stopped the boat so we could watch the... More

We went out with Captain John for a family eco-tour. What a wonderful trip to Masonboro Island. The Captain was very engaging with both children and adults. He was full of information and clearly has a passion for his job. It was a highlight of a trip full of highlights. The kids loved it and Mom and Dad got a... More

Capt. Joe delighted us with his knowledge of the area, the waters, the island and the wildlife. His knowledge of the local environment is impressive. We saw many birds and even sighted several dolphins. Capt. Joe's assistant, Capt. John, was cordial and helpful as much as Capt. Joe. Both captains have a lot of experience in the area and they... Knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The area is full of wildlife and we even lucked out and saw a small pod of dolphins on our excursion. If we come back to the area, we will bring our kids for sure.

I cannot say enough about this tour! It was fabulous. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and very nice! We had a wonderful time on the boat while being able to get great views of the sunset. This is definitely a must do for anyone visiting the area. The trip lasted about an hour long and we even got to... More

We can't say enough about the service and value provided by our new found friends at Wrightsville Beach Scenic Tours. Joe and Kirby provided an excellent experience while sharing loads of local knowledge and some great music for the ride. Reasonably priced compared to many boat tours we have done in the past. We will be back next time we... More
