Beautiful gardens. Great arrangement and layout. Interesting exhibits. Good place to buy plants when they have their annual sale. Great place to get ideas. Paths are well laid out and easy to follow. Plants are well labeled. We are Master Gardeners and always enjoy visiting here.

After being in Wilmington, NC for a week it was nice to find something that didn't require an entry fee to enjoy. I visited this with my husband and two children. We enjoyed freely walking the grounds. Our favorite part... feeding the fish. They have a fish food dispenser (cost a quarter) that we used to feed the fish. My... More

Loved this park. Smaller but absolutely beautiful. Local wildlife was plentiful during our visit and our children absolutely loved the Koi pond and Asian landscape with attached house. Great area for our picnic.

We enjoyed visiting and walking the Arboretum! Loved the NC ST gardening tips and the flowers. It seems there maybe hands on activities during the week which would be fun (We stopped by over the weekend).

Fairly small arboretum. You see all there is in about an hour. If you are into plants then you might want to see the site.

Amazing landscape although small. Extremely well preserved. Worth the visit if you are around. Free entrance.

Beautiful place to visit. Lots of native species and also turf grasses. In case you need help with turf or weed problems the extension agents are always so helpful.

This gem is a place I will spend an afternoon every time I'm in Wilmington. Admission is free, you just walk in and enjoy the beautiful gardens, which include a koi pond, Japanese Garden with tea house and waterfall, rose garden, children's garden with playhouse and big open shaded lawn with comfy outdoor chairs perfect for reading or conversation. I... More

I find a lot of my sites in Wilmington because of Dawson's Creek and this is no exception (they filmed a scene in the finale in the gardens). I would consider this to be a little hidden gem in Wilmington. The best thing about it is that it's free to the public and open everyday during daylight hours. It's an... More

If you like to garden, come. Is it this arboretum. It seems more like a botanical garden that has a wealth of trees. The Japanese garden was gorgeous. The arboretum is free, with limited hours. It was open to visits on the weekend but no staff were on duty. We did find a bathroom, hint: look by the greenhouses.
