Experience the mighty Cape Fear River by walking alongside it for about two miles downtown. There are plenty of bars and restaurants where you can take a leisurely break and just enjoy the river traffic or people watch.

There are a lot of different attractions. The ship to the quaint shops on cobblestone roads and alley ways.

This was my favorite place to walk each morning of my stay in downtown Wilmington. It is very pretty and relaxing, and very uncrowded early in the morning. I liked walking all the way down to the end, then going up the hill to Front Street and walking back down to my hotel. This gives you a chance to see... More

Great place to walk and enjoy the river and sites of Wilmington. We saw a wedding on the courthouse steps. ..complete with saxophonist and limo. We also saw the coast guard ship and viewed the north carolina battleship across the river. There are nice shops offering get local jewelry and art. Riverwalk is also pet friendly.

A good stretch of road with sidewalks on both sides in a 'historical' district of Wilmington. Not only are many of the buildings beautiful but many shops offer vintage items like clothing, fashion accessories, and misc. items. Restaurants were plentiful as well as bars and club hang outs.

Really enjoyed the river walk. Opportunity to see a lot of nature, the battleship and a coast guard ship. Very close to many restaurants and shops. The walk is about a half mile so not as long as I thought. It was under construction when I visited so it was even shorter but enjoyed the walk. They are expanding on... More

Loved the river walk. Very pretty really enjoyed the down town area. The full Boardwalk wasn't open and they are constructing more but still very pretty. Lots of educational signs to tell you about the wildlife and surroundings.

The riverwalk was right outside of our condo and we walked it everyday. What a great way to spend some time outside taking in the beautiful Cape Fear river. Its a great way to find places to eat as menus are posted for the riverside restaurants. Boat tour sign ups are also available right on the boardwalk. We found the... More

Downtown riverfront in Wilmington was just voted #1 best riverfront in the USA Today's American Poll. It's been one of my favorite places to go walk, read a book, beautiful photo opportunities, bike ride, take a boat ride, attend street events such as summer concert series, herb & garden fairs, and festivals. I have done it all there!
