Lots to see here, plenty of places to eat and drink.

We love all the variety of bars, restaurants and shopping. The river walk is very nice. Maybe you can catch a dinner cruise on a boat while there too.

Cute shops, good restaurants, and right along the river. Great place to visit. Really enjoyed our stay there.

We loved our two night stay here in Wilmington. Its very much a small town experience, and the waterway and river front area is beautiful, just like those old episodes of Dawson's Creek (apparently filmed here). Thoroughly recommend a stop over here if you're heading down the coast.

Southern. Historic. Riverport and river front. This place has it all. Beautiful historic old South architecture and modern convenience. Foodie heaven. From Irish and German fare to seafood with Southern flare. We have not had bad food here yet. If you like craft beer, make sure and stop at the Front Street Brewery. My recommendations so far? Downtown Wilmington is a nice place to visit. We really liked the Cotton Exchange and all the little shops in the building. There are plenty of restaurants around the area too.

I found the Riverwalk to be poorly lit and I wouldn't recommend walking it alone. I enjoyed a few cozy lounges in the downtown area.

We enjoyed Wilmington for the most part. So many historic houses and buildings, it was really something to see. Being a Southern city it was hit and miss on the hospitality, there are a fair amount of implants not from NC here. Nice selection of bars and restaurants, easy to walk and the River Walk was pretty nice. We are... More

Nice cobbled streets near the river. Lots of interesting shops in and around the area. A must see is the Cotton Exchange. You could literally spend 1/2 a day looking around at the many shops.
