We go to Wrightsville Beach at least a couple times of year, and sometimes you just want to do something off the beach. We've spent a good bit of time downtown doing the carriage rides, riverboat ride, walks, riverfront restaurants, etc., but we never stopped at Airlie for some reason. That was definitely a mistake on our part, as the... More

I really enjoyed our stroll here this weekend. The trees are magical almost like out of a movie. I will definitely come back on my next Wilmington trip.

We had driven past Airlie Gardens many times on our way out to Wrightsville. One Sunday afternoon we decided to visit. What a wonderful collection of plants! We enjoyed the mile walk with markers describing the estuary. There was a quaint church on the grounds, as well. At the end of the walk is a bottle collection which was beautiful... More

Great place to harmonize with nature. Large enough to spend a few hours but not so large to be overwhelmed. Tram rides available on certain days. Enjoy the bottle garden and the pier.

A beautiful place to wander around, especially in spring when the bulbs and azaleas are in bloom. They do have special events happening throughout the year, summer concert series on Friday nights during the summer and Enchanted Arlie during the early Christmas Holidays...check their website. I live the "Airlie Oak".

Airlie Gardens is a great way to spend an afternoon. Everything is beautiful there, from the flowers & trees to the butterfly exhibit, peace and tranquility abound. The historic cemetery on the grounds is as interesting as the new sculptures. We visit ever year.

These gardens are set in an historically significant place on the coast. If you love flowers & early American history this is a "can't miss" visit. We sent about 2 hours here at a leisurely pace.
