Really enjoyed the gardens. Especially the glass sculpture. We would take advantage of this spot every chance we got if we lived close by. Peaceful and beautiful and enjoyed the historic church on the grounds.

When in this area, don't miss this. Take your camera. Just a great place to walk around and breathe. Additionally, don't miss the Holiday light festival, it's the second best time of year to visit after Spring!

Airlie Gardens is a Wilmington tradition for many generations. NHC residents can and should take advantage of the free day each month. This is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon exploring nature and getting some exercise. Don't miss the chapel! Take pictures!

This is where I was married. We get the membership every year. Love to go for picnic with daughter during the summer. The Enchanted Airlie at Christmas is a annual trip!

It did not matter that the only flowers in bloom were some of the camellias, this was a very lovely place to spend and afternoon. The Bottle Chapel (a modern affair created with - what else? - bottles) was delightful. Look for the faces and the butterfly. The Lebanon Chapel (traditional place of worship) was closed but the cemetery should... More

Kids and Adults love to walk through this botanical and holiday lights experience. You can also visit an amazing Santa Claus while you are here. For sale are cookies, popcorn hot chocolate and wine by the bottle or glass. They have super heroes to take selfies with. My family and I look forward to going back every year as part... More

I can't believe I have lived a mile from the gardens for years and never went until recently. Now I tell everybody to go. It is so beautiful anytime. Really enjoyed the sculpture exhibit. My favorite was the bottle chapel, AMAZING. I was so inspired by this cool structure. I had seen the video of the building of it but... More

Growing up we used to go play in Airlie all the time, it was privately owned & only open around Azalea season but it was bought by the county a few years back & that's good & bad. The bad, no more throwing frisbee in the field under the big oak but the good is its well maintained, has some... More
