We spent about an hour exploring the walking trails and enjoying the beautiful flowers. We would have liked to have seen more from the trolley, but there was only one 9-seater and a line of people waiting to ride. One other observation.... The "grumpy old man" at the ticket booth was a real downer. He was rude to a handicapped... More

Visit the gardens but kind of hit it between early spring flowers and azaleas in full bloom. It was also rainy this day. Overall the experience was great and I bet the azaleas are beautiful now

give this a try to get away from the beach and crowds...it is pretty but also educational. refreshing green areas and unusual plants. you may find discount coupons for admission online or in tourism magazines.

We were a little too early for the splendors of the azaleas but thoroughly enjoyed the gentle camellias and the swathes of brilliantly colored tulips. This was our first visit to these well-kept gardens and we were truly impressed. We found them very “manageable” inasmuch as one could wander all along the pathways and gardens without feeling pressured that you... More

Great place to see how the the wealthy of years gone by lived among these beautiful gardens & surrounding with the help of all the help of their servants. Also the giving up some of their wealth so future generations can & will enjoy the all the hard work of their workers & their wealth to make these gardens what... More

While the weather was a little cool the garden was a wonderful visit. The Airlee Oak Tree is close to 500 years and the walking paths are very stable. They have a trolley that can take you around if the long walk is too much. The flowers were just about to bloom. The fountains were quite beautiful. It would make... More

This is a lovely place for a stroll, with a main paved path and smaller paths which can accommodate all ranges of walking ability. Similar to the experience of the commenter from February, we found the front desk lady on a Saturday afternoon to be particularly unwelcoming and officious. Instead of a smile or a greeting, she insisted on inspecting... More

... and not just because this is where my fiance proposed. It's a walk through lush gardens, a romantic view of Grecian architecture, standing in sunlit bottle houses and watching the whimsical Spanish moss covered trees sway in the breeze all carved out in a little southern town on the coast.

The Christmas light show was amazing! It was fun to walk around and see all the displays. Great for all ages, grandparents and young children alike. Most paths are stroller and wheelchair accessible. Fee was per car load. Recommend making a reservation.
