My family and I visited airlie garden over the summer and it was absolutely gorgeous. We took tons of pictures through out the grounds. If you enjoy taking pictures you will not be disappointed with all the different scenery. My family loved reading about the history through out the gardens. My boys (ages 1 & 9) thought the butterfly garden... More

This is a perfect stop for a relaxing break from fast-paced vacationing. A leisurely stroll through woodlands and waterways, walkers are also treated to hidden gems like the brilliantly hued Bottle House and the Lebanon Chapel, seen in several movies and soon to be a venue of another up-coming film. If your timing brings you to Wilmington between Thanksgiving and... More

As a local Wilmingtonian, I love the history of Airlie Gardens. Plus, they are right on the Intracoastal waterway. The annual oyster roast in the fall and the Garden Party (part of the Azalea Festival every spring) are two favorite events.

A very beautiful southern style garden. There are plenty of water views and a dock on the river. Allow 3 hours to see it all.

Taking a stroll through Airlie's meandering and estuary hugging gardens just up from Wrightsville Beach is one of the best escapes from the bustling beach community. And, yet, it's less than a mile away. The ancient Live Oak - planted in the 16th Century - is remarkable, beautiful. Egrets, blue herons fly overhead - and rest among the marshes. The... More

Wonderful gardens, with walking trails, butterfly house (not open as it was off season), holiday lights, follies and amazing lakes complete with swans and snapping turtles. It could do with a cafe, there's only a drinks machine but the toilets are the cleanest Ive ever come across! We only had a couple of hours there but could have easily spent... More

The gem of all area parks. Not to be missed! Beautiful gardens on the water with live music on Friday during the summer months. Plus incredible Christmas themes and lights during the season

This was our first visit to the gardens. We had a nice relaxing walk. There is a bit of history here. The grounds are well maintained and the plantings were really nice. We’d really like to see it in the spring. It must be really beautiful then. The facilities are clean and everything appears to be very well maintained. The... More
