A little further removed is the USS North Carolina, a WWII battleship open to the public. It also is worth spending time exploring, regardless of age. The antebellum homes are delightful to see;... We went to the historic district two nights. One was for a haunted pub crawl, which was fun and interesting, and one for the concert on the river front. So lucky to live here! Never a shortage of family and friends wishing to visit. Great restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, live music, historic sites and beautiful scenery at every turn. Don't miss the opportunity to take a leisurely stroll on the River Walk set along the Cape Fear River.

I do appreciate the way this city has KEPT the past by keeping the old buildings. It is a lot of walking and was definitely hot in July, but it was definitely a nice city with lots of stuff to see.

We had some extra time and decided to take a 45 minute trolley tour of the Wilmington Historic District. For only $10.00 we learned a lot of the the Port History. The driver was excellent and entertaining. Fun....

Beautiful, lots of detail. I enjoy walking or driving thru neighborhoods - makes me slow down enough to look around and appreciate the architecture and details put into some of these gorgeous homes.
