A small touristy historic district. Fun for day trips, dining along the Cape Fear or strolling the shops. Some very good local restuarants like the Pilot House. If you are looking for the Inner Harbor, this is not the place for you!

Over the 18 + years that we have lived in Wilmington, we continue to experience and enjoy the charm of the downtown historic district.

The homes in this area are absoulutley beautiful and well kept. There are even some you can tour. The weekend of the Azalea Festival you will even see people dressed in period costume on the porches to greet you.

Beautiful area of Wilmington with lots of fun architecture, shops, and restaurants to enjoy! We enjoyed eating at Front Street Brewery and following up lunch with Kilwin's for dessert. Highly recommend walking around this area of Wilmington. It will not disappoint!

This is our third trip to the Wilmington historic district. The architecture and history of this area is rich. The historic society has done a great job of preservation and enrichment for this area. I recommend a visit to anyone wishing to experience history.

So many things to do in one area. Museums, tours, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and so much more! The farmers market (seasonal) is a thing not to miss. Take a cruise on the riverboat or a trolley ride or just walk for hours admiring the beautiful homes and shops.

If you like history, cobblestones, the sounds of a waterfront port, and southern hospitality, you'll love Wilmington's Historic district. Trolley tours, boat cruises. live oaks, Spanish moss and over 40 restaurants. We loved walking the river front board walk and sitting on a bench and eating ice cream. The only thing I would have liked to have seen are the... More
