The river front at Wilmington is great, a super walk, with lovely restaurants and cafes. We found downtown Wilmington a mixed bag with some nice quaint shops, but a bit ordinary in the centre.
i enoyed it twice. once when i came to visit my best friend feb 2009 another tim september 2011 when my mom came down for a visit. now i was to take my niece.

If you find yourself in the downtown...

After touring the USS North Carolina, my husband and I spent the rest of the day in Wilmington's historic district. It's a beautiful area with pleanty to see, with pleanty of history, the Cape Fear Museum and plenty of great places to eat.
It was pleasant walking along the boardwalk both day and night. Took a trolley trip, the guide was very informative, told us a lot of interesting facts that on our own we may never have known.
Downtown Wilmington has so much to offer. There are plenty of beautiful homes to see, museums to enjoy, a variety of restaurants and plenty of shopping. Although I live in Wilmington my family and I spend a great deal of time downtown. It is like a mini vacation for us without leaving home.

The architecture is beautiful, so take your camera so you can snap a few photos. Many of the homes are beautifully maintained and this is lovely to...
