Shame on you Wilmington for allowing this! Small cages, people throwing food with no respect, sad and unhappy animals

This is a 10 acre park with many unique animals for the kids and those who have never seen them before in the animals' nature environment. The park tries use the acreage available for many of the North America animals, but wished they would have given more thought in preserving some of this space to the more exotic species (Lion,... We were out and about and we saw this place. It looks really bad from the road... tacky and old. BUT, it's TOTALLY AWESOME. When you go in, definitely buy a bag of corn and peanuts. You have the opportunity to feed some of the animals as you walk around. Oddly enough, the bear LOVES peanuts. If you throw one... More

I'm not an animal activist in anyway, but when I saw these animals I felt bad for them! It sickens me that I supported this place! These animals looks miserable, tiny cages behind cages. People looking at them from afar and throwing food at them, hitting them and laughing. I saw one monkey on the ground not moving, I was... More

Tregembo Animal Zoo is one of the most fun and interesting places I've ever been to! Tregembo consists of many different varieties of animals like reptiles, mammals, a couple of aquatics and much more! My grand daughter and I have been going there each year for 12 years! Tregembo is one of the best and friendly places to go for little... More

The owners are some of the most amazing people that I know. Their love and care for these animals is incredible. The animals are provided daily with food, water, and shelter.. and they don't have to fight everyday for food or survival as they would out in the wild. Not only are these animals loved and cared for more than... More

I have visited alot of small family run zoos in different states and this one is excellent. The staff was nice and the animals enviornments were very clean. There was no odor of any kind which means excellent care. The bear even had his own large tub of water to play and cool off in. All animals had water available... More

I had an awful experience. The owner was extremely rude to us because we left at 5:01 and not 5:00. At 20 minutes until 5 they came around and reminded everyone of the time, which is reasonable. But I was there with my 83 year old grandmother, my 2.5 year old, and my infant that I was pushing in a... More

I felt sorry for some of the animals. The young giraffe was all alone and looked very sad, the bear, lion and tiger are in cages to small for them. Some same species birds were in different cages when they should have been together. But the animals seemed to be well cared for. I would go again

My husband has been coming here since he was a child and this was my first visit. After reading all the poor reviews I was skeptical--but there was no need. This is obviously a well-run establishment! No, it is not a state-of-the-art million dollar "fancy-dancy" zoo. But it's a clean, fun, organized family -run operation. The animals seemed healthy and... More
