Unfortunately probably will not be back. Love the displays. One of the best layouts I have seen. The gift shop has a lot to offer which is why I made a special trip to town today. Unfortunately, the gentleman working had locked the doors early. With plenty of time left before closing hours I was told to come back another... More

The museum is relatively small. Easy to find. Some interesting memorabilia in two rooms. Some model trains in two rooms. Only two full size antique trains to "climb into." Relatively expensive for what you see.

I stopped in here because it was right beside our hotel and was a little curious. There is a full sized RR engine outside which is interesting to see up close. Inside there is the requisite junky gift shop and a tiny museum in the next room. There were some interesting items but I can't imagine how they do with... More

My son is still raving about the models. He said it was a good thing there were other people there or we would have never torn him away.

It was boys day out with my 7 year old son, so we went to the train museum. It was a interesting for me, seeing the town of Wilmington the way out wad in the past. The moving trains and model were bringing out my inner child wanting to play. My son however absolutely loved it, and it was hard... More

You have to be seriously obsessed with trains to have a good time. It's really boring. No hands on. Don't waste your time.

Being a native of the area, I am familiar with our Railroad history. The museum does a good job of explaining it to tourist, though I'm sure they could do more. My son has been in love with trains since he could crawl (he's 9 now) and even he is starting to get bored with the museum. The displays never... More

We arrived here and were a little misled by the signs that advertised $5.00 admission on weekends all month of December. To our shock, after having my grandson so excited to see a train, we ended up with close to $50 just for admission and that DOES include my 3 year old grandson. A nice model train display but it...
