Beautiful area with lots to see and do! We went over the bridge in the photo and walked around the area near it.

Hard to review a river! It's wild, powerful, beautiful in all seasons, nearby our residence and we love it. We enjoy taking the ferry to Southport for the day.

Nice safe walk. Great places to eat. Water does not stink like most rivers do. Can be windy! There are river boat tours you can take from the dock.

Amazing to walk down on the observation area and look at how fast the river moves through this area. You can understand how and why it got it's name!!

Wilmington is right on Cape Fear River, and to better know the city one needs to take a riverboat tour. We took an old steamer boat that was most appropriate for a historic trip back to the 20th century. Or guide was gracious, funny and knowledgeable. We went up stream to see the North Carolina battleship, and then cruised south... More

It was ok, but the area around it does have great places to eat. I'd take the ride but not the dinner. It was a buffet of BBQ.

I highly recommend that you spend as much time as you can on the Cape Fear River and its surroundings. 1. Take a cruise on the river 2. Take a walk on the boardwalk 3. Visit the Battleship North Carolina 4. Eat at a restaurant facing the river

This one hour tour was very educational and enjoyable. The guide kept the informational exchange entertaining due to his wit and overall enthusiasm. The area is very charming and the river is beautiful. The guide explained the reason for the dark waters, and provided a very insightful look at Wilmington, the river, and the bridge.

Enjoyed our tour of the Cape Fear River. The tour guide was exceptional in his knowledge. The tour gave us an opportunity to see the port at its busiest.
