River Walk is lovely -clean, good view of the river & Battleship. It's lovely to buy an ice cream, then sit by the Cape Fear River.

The Cape Fear River flows into the Atlantic Ocean just below the City and Port of Wilmington, North Carolina. It is a beautiful place to visit and enjoy for singles, couples, families, and groups. The city has built a nice boardwalk that parallels the river, it's about a mile long and very scenic. Informational plaques are posted to give visitors... More

Best enjoyed by taking a cruise along it with a guide's commentary leaving from the Riverwalk downtown. There are restaurants and bars with river views, mostly downtown.

The Cape Fear River is beautiful and full boat and ship activity. From downtown Wilmington to the south you will see a wide variety of ocean going vessels such as container and tanker ships, Coast Guard Cutter-Diligence, and a variety of smaller pleasure boats. The coastline is varied with the boardwalk on the east side of the river in downtown... More

Dark, slow moving, chocolate colored river that at once is spooky and yet awesome. The dark river being stained tea color with water coming into it from swamps upstream. While boating along the river you see remnants of earlier times, with old wrecks and pieces of ships melting into river banks. Yet on the Wilmington riverfront you see life, with... More

The waterfront in Wilmington is simply beautiful. There are plenty of shops and things to do nearby. Walking in the area is an enjoyable experience and is very relaxing. I also recommend walking into the historic district, as it is easily accessible from the waterfront.

The river view from the waterfront in Wilmington is excellent. There are nice places to sit and even eat takeout from your favorite restaurant. There are parking garages nearby. I recommend a garage vs the pay meters. The meters require you to go to kiosk and insert money in a corresponding slot to where you are parked. We did that... More
