I visit this place once a year. Love the care that they give the turtles. Love that Jean Beasley is also on the grounds and talks to the guests. And I love, love the gift shop! Lots of great gifts with sea turtles!!

This was a great visit overall, but I wish the tour lasted longer. I thought it would be more hands on and give more info. All you really do is walk through the hospital and they tell you about each turtle. My youngest daughter who is 6 really enjoyed herself.

The Sea Turtle Hospital is a must see. They are doing great work for injured sea turtles. The tour was informative and interesting for both adults and children. We visited in mid-October and saw 16 turtles under the hospital's care. Some will be rehabbed and released, others will go to aquariums and others will be permanent residents of the hospital... Kudos to the great volunteers who work so hard to protect and mend our endangered sea turtles. Give Lennie a kiss.

Great cause worth supporting. Keep in mind they have a new building on the mainland of Tailsail beach but many of the web site and printed guides still list it as being on the island. They are still growing into their new building so a number of the exhibits ate "in progress". The volunteers are most knowledgeable and very friendly.... More

There were four adults in our group and we all thought this was one of the best experiences of our week at the beach. The long line (1.5 hours but it's only open 2 hours/2days a week in the off season) was daunting so I wouldn't recommend it to the under 10 crowd. The facilities were wonderful, the staff and... The newly enlarged hospital, complete with surgical and diagnostic facilities is awesome. To be able to see and hear about the actual patients they are caring for is a great experience. Lots to learn. It is phenomenal that the operation including the hatching and next analysis is carried out by an enthusiastic team of volunteers! For the hospital tour, be... More

My family and I are vacationing in Emerald Isle, NC. We had visited the Pine Knoll shores aquarium and enjoyed the sea turtle exhibit and We found the turtle hospital after a search for more local attractions. We drove over an hour to visit the hospital only to wait outside for a half hour and wait another 45 minutes to... More

My cousin and I were staying at a friend's beach house in N. Topsail Beach. We had been to the sea turtle hospital a few years ago at the old location on Topsail Island, so we were looking forward to seeing the new facility. I had printed out the web page a few weeks in advance from the hospital's website... More

My family had always visited the previous location and there was no charge, but you could donate. Which was the way we liked it.... and we would donate well. This time, they charged you at the door. I was not happy about the commercializing of the hospital... gift shop and all. The kids enjoyed getting to see the turtles, but... More
