Site of past LPGA Opens, this is a beautiful and challenging course. When we played (May 20, 2014), the course was in excellent shape. To score well you need to avoid the many deep traps that protect the greens and then putt well on the crowned green which were lighting fast. The inn is very nice and the folks (starter,... More

We really enjoyed playing Pine Needles, my wife appreciates it when a golf course takes into account what is best and appropriate for a female golfer. They provide ball washers at the forward tees, they provide a forward tee that reduces distance but not interfere with the integrity of the course. This provides for a great experience. And of course... More

Pine Needles, long known for Mrs. Peggy Kirk Bell, her fantastic golf school and amazing course. Few in the game are respected as Mrs. Bell. and her gold course speaks for itself. Now it seems PN has made a major upgrade within the clubhouse, to their dining experience and kitchen staff. They've acquired the skills of Chef Peter Hamm, formerly... More

It's obvious why this course is so highly regarded. The landscape is gorgeous. The course is in beautiful shape. The service is fantastic. Just an absolute pleasure to play a round of golf here.

Setting is gorgeous, food is great. The womens open has been played here. Located in southern Pines and downtown southern Pines is wonderful! Great restaurants, and very active town. Great little theater that plays independent films and has live productions and they have a wonderufl concert series both classical and others.

I've had the chance to play Pine Needles a few times over the past 6 years and even with all of the other great golf options in the area, I keep coming back. This course played host to a couple of Women's US Opens, and is a fun fair course to play. There are some tricky doglegs to manage off... More

A very nice golf course. Not terribly difficult off the tee, but bring your short game because you are going to need it. This was one of my first experiences with Donald Ross greens and it was a learning experience. Plan to chip over the green a few times. It's easy to see how they hosted the US Women's Open... More

You hope you will see Peggy Kirk Bell when you are here. But you can enjoy the pictures in the clubhouse. I had just played 18 at Mid Pines and then we came to Pine Needles. I look forward to getting back and giving it my full attention. The course was wide, putts were tough. Grab lunch at the clubhouse.
