Very good and very challenging course played as part of the World Am competition. Not for your average golfer. Very difficult holes and #9 was a beast. Not for faint of heart.

This is a very pretty and picturesque course! There's a ton of hazards and water all over the place. It's certainly a shotmakers course with blind shots galore. The greens were great! Only downfall was that lots of areas were soggy but that's to be expected with the amount of rainfall this area has gotten this Summer. Also, I would... More

I have played this course many times and was concerned about the condition of the greens this spring. In the last few weeks, with the help of the warm weather and some TLC, the greens are back. With the numerous courses in the area, I still find this to be one of top courses. It's not only challenging but the... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my round at River's Edge as the staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. The course was in great condition and the greens were fast and smooth. However the left edge of the 9th green seems to have sunk partway. Any ball that is hit to the middle of the green quickly rolls off the island green and... More

Hollis Cross, Thank you for the compliments on our Facility. I can assure you that the 9th green is in fine condition. There is a progressive slope on each side of green. This hole was designed by Arnie himself to be the true test of golfers ability to control 3 good shots. We look forward to seeing you again at... More

The greens are in rough shape or this is 5 stars all the way! When the greens are in it is tough to beat this course! Scenic views and just the right mix of easy and challenging holes. Good food at the turn! This is a must play for both locals and out of towners!

KosMoDog, Thank you for the kind words on our Facility. We agree, it is tough to beat this layout and clubhouse when it comes to difficulty and scenery. All greens are in fine shape as we have completed our 2nd Summer Aeration and are prepped to finish out the year strong. This winter was very harsh on the Paspalum Greens... More

Avoid this course. They have completely lost their greens and give you some story about Poana. Was very disappointed having to putt on rolled mud surfaces.

Joseph L, We are sorry to hear about your trip in May. I can assure we have not lost any of our greens. We were going through a program to help us identify the areas most effected by the Poa Annua from this past Winter, which included snow coverage for 9 days. Extreme weather like this has a long term... More

First of all I want to say it was a pleasure playing this course. It has some of the most memorable holes I've ever played. Number nine is unbelievable. We played this course on 4/18/14 and even after the harsh winter we had the course was in considerably better shaped than others played that week. The down side in the... More

Joe651, Glad you enjoyed your trip to "The Edge" this spring. After one of the toughest Winter's on record we are pleased to say that we are in great shape tee to green! We went through a program in May to help identify the Poa Annua concentrated areas so we can better protect ourselves from the cool/wet grass that creeps... More

Played this course a couple of weeks ago. Have always loved the layout, especially hole number 9, which is one of the best I've ever played. However, I like a bit more grass under my ball in the fairway, and the greens were nothing more than average. Played a few course in N. Myrtle during the same trip, and all... More

This is the best golf course in North Carolina. The course is in excellent condition. The green are very well maintained. The only down side are the bunkers. They are in very poor shape.
