The park is great for a solo lunch picnic basket full of sandwiches and southern sweet iced tea. After eating, I enjoyed fishing even though I returned what I caught. Quiet fun relaxing.

We tend to camp here even though we live fairly close. The campground is wooded with plenty of nice sites. We have tent camped, used a camper and also rented the cabins a few times. It is quite a peaceful campground that is kept clean and in good condition. The cabins have a queen bed and a set of bunk... More

My whole family loves going to Dan Nicholas Park! It is wonderful for adults and children, there are multiple play grounds available, putt putt gold, paddle boats, mining for gems. If you pack your lunch (and picnic areas abound), you can easily spend an entire day here and not even spend $20. Great value and a lot of fun!

Where to start? This is a fantastic park- a gem of Rowan County! We mainly go for walking purposes-- lovely trails around a small lake and to visit the animals! They have a small zoo/animal exhibits of local animals, including bears, eagles, fox, bobcat, wolves, raccoon, groundhogs, owls, deer, etc…They have a reptile center and a petting zoo. They have... Just there for a work team event. Beautiful outdoor areas like the woods, outdoor shelters and pond. The volleyball areas are invested with fire ants so beware. The basketball goals are falling apart. Other than that its a great park.

This park is loaded up with things to do. A pretty nice campground with accommodations for rv's and tent camping. A well stocked lake with paddle boat rental. An entertainment area with a carousel and a miniature train ride. A nature museum and hiking trails. Lots of shelters for group events are available for group and family rentals.

Go! that's it, just go! by yourself, with your significant other, kids, class, just go. You will have a blast, there is so much to offer and do. If you can attend an event they host - by all means don't miss it, you will not be disappointed.
