I wouldn't drive to wave rock just to see the formation. It's impressive but not worth driving 4hrs from perth or esperance. If you have to drive near the area or stop over night to break up travel then go see it. Otherwise spend 4hrs+ driving somewhere else..... If you do go make sure its early in the morning and... Have taken visitors here a couple of times and it is really quite spectacular. There isn't much else to see in Hyden and if driving from Perth (336km) it's a long drive in a day as a return trip. There is some accommodation in and around Hyden, including the hotel and I find it best to stay overnight. Meals at... More

Amazing colours and rock formation, definitely looks like a large wave. Not very long but worth a visit. The walk over the rock has wonderful views. The Hippo Yawn is another photo opportunity. Make sure you also visit the Lace Place, wonderful collection. All within walking distance of the caravan park.

After 4hours drive from Esperance to Wave rock, it was quite worth it. Especially the famous wave rock structure. Thought it was a big structure but the rock formation was probably less than a kilometre long. But the climb up the rest of the rock formation was good enough. As it was a really hot day, the reservoir was really... More

Myself and another perthian took an English visitor out here on a day trip as he really wanted to see the outback and the renowned wave rock. We were skeptical at first but it really was an amazing formation and there were beautiful views of the surrounding landscape from the top.

Stupid place! Sucky formation of rocks. Last time we went there it was i pissed my pants. Despite of the rain, the place still looks stupid. We managed to climb the rock and the scenery from up there is really terrible . It is really a bad place!

Well it certainly is a big rock that is shaped like a wave.....but that's about all it resembles to the beach....It is hot and loads of flies but is a nice little walk and glad we got our photo there.

The long drive to the rock does not justify the mere half hour of so spent there. This is also probably because I went with a tour The drive was boring as the guide did not provide any interesting narration. Not even how the rock came about. There was literally silence in the coach - no pipe in music -... More

Awesome place! Great formation of rocks. Last time we went there it was raining heavily. Despite of the rain, the place still looks superb. We managed to climb the rock and the scenery from up there is really breathtaking. It is really a cool place!
