If you don't want to bother with the long drive (4 to 5 hours), you can join the day tour. Basically, the major attraction is the wave rock itself, which is fabulous. The tour company tries very hard to show you lovely old towns, dog cemeteries, lace museum and other interesting places (together with lots of aboriginal stories). Just want... More

Wave Rock is spectacular. Its miles from anywhere but worth visiting just to say you've done it. And it is totally unspoiled. What, no cable car? We neglected the climb to the top, which we heard later is worth it for the great views. Unfortunate that, as can't see myself ever getting to Wave Rock.

Pretty cool to see and you will get some decent photo opportunities. The Entrance Fee is to pay for parking. There's 1 machine that only takes coins so bring some with you! Fee is 10 AUD. There is also a walking trail that takes you to the nearby Hippo's Yawn and through the forest. Went on a Saturday and it... More

It's a really long drive to get to Wave Rock and there is not too much you can really do there except look at the cool form of the rock, take some pictures, walk around a little and that is basically it. That being said it's still worth it if you don't expect there to be more. The rock really... More

Called in here on the drive back to a Perth from Esperance and certainly well worth it. Spectacular rock formation and great photo opportunities. Make sure you take the climb to the top for great views of the surrounding countryside

A trip worth going to visit if you love the work of nature. It is very beautiful in sunny day. The rock gives you a feel of how awesome a masterpiece of Nature can be. There are information boards telling you about the rock formation. My family and I take a 4 hours plus to reach Hyden. We stopped by... More

This is a real masterpiece of Nature. If you have the luck to be there in a "wet day" as the guy at the petrol station told us, then you're a lucky guy. When the air is clean and the surface of the rock is reflecting sunlight (even better when wet), then you'll enjoy an incredible show. At sunset time,... More

This rock is quite good to walk along - especially the WR to Hippo's Yawn look. By all means, climb up to the top and view the retaining wall to collect water, and the water going into Hyden dam. ingenious idea... There is food available at the Wave rock cafe, but first, it is better to drive to the Hippo's... More

It is an awesome rock which you can climb on. During the day the rock is great, At night we stayed at the wave rock holiday park which is walkable distance from the rock and we were lucky enough to be there at new moon and the weather was fantastic. I laid on the rock for more than 2 hours... More
