Well it certainly is a big rock that is shaped like a wave.....but that's about all it resembles to the beach....It is hot and loads of flies but is a nice little walk and glad we got our photo there.

The long drive to the rock does not justify the mere half hour of so spent there. This is also probably because I went with a tour The drive was boring as the guide did not provide any interesting narration. Not even how the rock came about. There was literally silence in the coach - no pipe in music -... More

Awesome place! Great formation of rocks. Last time we went there it was raining heavily. Despite of the rain, the place still looks superb. We managed to climb the rock and the scenery from up there is really breathtaking. It is really a cool place!

This wave rock is incredible, a true freak of human nature. Here is this rock in the middle of no where that is just majestic. Allow yourself a couple of hours just to take it all in, and stroll around. Where runners to make the walk around it easier, it's a bit hard in thongs ! And definitely put on... More

Seeing Wave Rock makes you aware of the true power of nature. The cliff has been formed over several million years and it's a truly amazing sight. The only downside is that it's infested with very annoying flies ;-)

We were on our way from Esperance to Perth and made a planned stop in Hyden to see the Wave Rock. Seeing this wonder of nature with your own eyes is something special. We walked around the area for about three hours and we still didn't have enough of it. One thing to remember and bring with you is bug... More

Fancy taking a picture of yourself "surfing" at wave rock? If the answer is a definite yes, I would say that making a trip to Wave Rock at Hyden is a definite no-brainer. This is definitely one of the "been there, done that" kind of experience that all travelers would like it ticked at their checklist of visiting Perth and... More

We visited the rock as part of a self drive round trip from Perth through Margaret River, Albany, Esperance, Hyden back to Perth. Spent a night at a local motel & thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The climb to the top is well worth the view. We found some incredible plant life up there. Like tiny reddish ping petals growing straight... More

If you are travelling around this area I would recommend detouring to Hyden and seeing wave rock. It is what the pictures show it to be and a cool thing to 'tick off'. The park its within also has hippos yawn a few minutes down and a "museum' of old toy soldiers/lace/wild flowers and well as short walking paths. The... More

Who on earth would have thought that over 600 kms inland from Perth would be one of the largest waves you are ever likely to encounter? Wave Rock was created by water erosion over 60 million years and today it is a huge curved rock in the shape of the perfect wave. Simply stunning, it takes your breath away as... More
