Who on earth would have thought that over 600 kms inland from Perth would be one of the largest waves you are ever likely to encounter? Wave Rock was created by water erosion over 60 million years and today it is a huge curved rock in the shape of the perfect wave. Simply stunning, it takes your breath away as... More

Located near the town of Hyden, approximately 340km form Perth, about a hour and a half hour drive. We had a car but I would assume there are coach tours available. An expanse of rock that the elements have carved leaving it resembling an immense wave about to crash. There are a few marked walks in the area on and... More

Many of the photos of wave rock give a good idea of what to expect. However, tehre is a walking trail over the rock and another around the base of the rock that is pleasant in the morning.

Loved Wave Rock. Easily accessible to see the rock itself. The climb to the top is not very demanding either. Great views when you get there. We were a little surprised by the $10 (per car) charge to visit Wave Rock, cash only, at the beginning of the walk.

We loved walking around the area at Wave Rock and then the salt pans and lake area. Plenty to do at Wave Rock. You do need a couple of days to see all the things in Hyden

A great attraction that is worth both walking around and climbing. Easy walk and climb. The colours first thing in the morning are spectacular.

Visiting Hyden decided we had to take a look at Wave Rock, very interesting g to see & take a few pictures of, great colors & interesting formation. Of course had to take the Surfing shot, though there was someone there on our visit with his electric guitar taking rock photos at Wave Rock.

A tick on the bucket list Can easily walk over it and around it, lots of marked walkways that can be a little confusing. Must do Mulka's cave also

It was late July we drove from Esparance to Waverock Hyden on a one day return trip. Five hours to and from.. long day but it was worth the while. Missed the wild flower season by a month but the drive was nice. Wave rock was a wonderful formation and the colour of the rock was intriguing. You do get... More

Although it was extremely windy we had no trouble climbing the well marked Wave Rock. There are all different levels of walks from the short, stairs to the slight challenge . I enjoyed the walk and the view.Look out for the information boards on the way.
