I drove all the way to hyden with the result that the way from the park spot to get the ticket was further away than the way from the car to the rock. And I stood there and literally said to myself: seriously? Is that it? It was definitely not worth those 350km from Perth. But. The trip was saved... More

We debated on whether to come here. We were on our way from Kalgoorlie to the Perth area so we went our of our way to get here. It was worth it. The weathered rock really does look like a giant wave. It is nice if you can stay long enough to see it in different lights. Also later in... More

Well worth the trip to get there and experience one of Australia's natural assets. All paths well defined, very good interpretative panels

Did the self drive 1 day trip, it worth the drive(about 4hrs with a 20mins break). The route from perth to hyden wave rock was very direct, you will not lost. Must climb to the top, what a fascinating view you will get. Can climb up from the beginning of the wave rock or walk all the way in to... More

Wave Rock is the best known part of Hyden Rock but there are other places to see as well. Great photo opportunities both at the bottom of the wave and well worth the walk over the top. Lots of interpretative signs along the way to explain about the wildlife and plants. They say it is only 14 metres high, but... More

This has to be seen to be believed. The colours are incredible. Take time to walk the length, and if you are really fit and agile you can climb up the rough path & steps and walk along the top. But I found this a bit scary and came back. At one end of the Rock are The Breakers -... More

Although it is a must see we did not think it was worth the extra long mileage to view it. A rock is what it is with coloured streaks nothing else

Great for all ages. We went for a weekend which was more than enough time for the whole area. The rock itself is smaller than I thought it was going to be but magnificent when standing under it. We did a bush walk and mulkas cave and hippos yawn, not far from the rock itself. Much easier to explore in... More

Was expecting a bit more but really worth the look, the climb to the top is really worth the view, didn't get to Hippo's Yawn but very easy access, caravan near by if you want to stay the night. Shop just down the road is worth a visit nice people and reasonably priced food. Take some bug spray flies are... More

Neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed. It's not as impressive as tourist brochures make it look, but it's interesting, and the walks around the rock to see the dam and the rest of the site, and climbing to the top of the rocks for the incredible view, are all worth doing.
