What a delightful surprise to find that Wave Rock is not just a single shaped rock but part of a much larger granite escarpment. There are walks you can do around the escarpment and others that go out to other attractions of granite magnificence near by. We loved our day hiking around Wave rock. The view from on top of... If you've known about Wave Rock for a long time and appreciate that it's one of Australia's most interesting geological sites, or if you just like amazing rock formations, then I would say it's worth making the trip. I remember seeing black and white photos in books when a kid back in the 70s, and I always thought I might... More

Everything costs to get in of course, so head to the tourist centre near the rock and buy a $15 per head entry card to all the attractions, save some $$$ and get to see it all.

The drive to and from Wave Rock Hyden on 6th January 2015 was interestingly different as the kilometres rolled by. From wheat fields to salt fields, and the beautiful shades of the sunset coming back to Perth. Every kilometre bought a different picture. Seeing Wave Rock was very special to me as I had been wanting to see it from... More

We stopped by wave rock on our way to Esperance. It is almost half way and breaks the journey well. It is worth a weekend trip from Perth as well and the journey time is not much more than 3 hours. The rock is far more than the "wave" itself which is often the only photos shown of the area.... More

We stayed in the wave Rock Resort, it's not really a resort but moore like a caravan park. The accommodation is basic but there is nothing else that close to the rock ( walking distance). There is a caravan park next door to the cabins. They are comfortable and clean. There is nothing wrong with this accommodation. The rock is... More

Whilst the rock is fairly impressive, I would not bother driving all the way from Perth to see it. We stopped by on the way back from Esperance, and I would advise you to think about doing the same if you want to see it (over 3 hours to get here from Perth). Also I felt the $10 entry was... More

The rock is awesome and amazing to see. It area around the back and climb up over the top reminds of like the planet Mars. Red and Barren and pitted. Large beautiful boulders. I was glad to be up top as there were not so many of the crazy tourists up there and we had a nice peaceful walk. However,... More

I wouldn't drive to wave rock just to see the formation. It's impressive but not worth driving 4hrs from perth or esperance. If you have to drive near the area or stop over night to break up travel then go see it. Otherwise spend 4hrs+ driving somewhere else..... If you do go make sure its early in the morning and...
