Its kind of a unique attraction. Its a natural rock formation that is shaped like a tall breaking "ocean wave." A must-see in WA. The best time time to go is winter to spring as the weather is still cooler by this time & there are no flies. We had a great time being there.

Long drive through some amazing countryside and lovely little towns. Wave rock is amazing, absolutely stunning. Just as it says, a huge wave shaped rock in all the shades of red you could imagine. The size of it is unbelievable. Climbed to the top and saw the dam there too. Engineering marvel. So glad the family & I went to... More

This was near the top on list of things to see in WA but was glad I was in the area to visit friends and didn't have to make the three and a half hour drive out specially. The parking fee was ridiculous. Cafe opposite did good reasonably priced food too.

Not many people know about Wave Rock for some reason but I will spread the word. It is a natural wonder that is so fantastic that even my husband who is usually bored with sight seeing loved it! The kids can have a run around without getting into too much trouble as long as they keep to the path and... More

Surf the giant rock wave, climb over the top of Hyden Rock and explore the big boulders and other parts of the rock. See the little lizards and beautiful birds and the fantastic view across country WA.

The large wave shaped volcanic rock is really spectacular to see, with the stripes of colour adding to the beauty of the rock. It is inspiring to walk under and over the rock and you can see a long distance from the top.

Wave rock is around 4-5 hours drive from Perth City, there's nothing along the journey except some small town which allow you to stop and rest for a while. From wave rock it is another 5-6 hours drive to Esperance, so if you are planning on a road trip down to Esperance from Perth City and you don't want to... More

You just need to get yourself in a car can drive 4 hours to view this. Totally worth the trip down just to see it. Arrived in the evening just before the sun sets where the temperature is just right, and lesser pesky flies. Walking towards it and when it comes into view at the corner, my heart skipped a... More

This is a long drive to see a rock! The wave itself is great but it has a far more impressive rival a few hours north at elachbutting rock. I was impressed with the amenities surrounding the rock itself. Cafe gift shop camping grounds and a motel all the things most other tourism councils neglect. Well done Hyden, get the... More
