Interesting place to visit

Only stopped here quickly but it does look like a hippo yawning. Worth the visit as it is close by before retiring to the place for lunch.

The walk trail from Wave Rock to Hippo Yawn is pleasant and enjoyable. Look over the rock for the camouflaged lizards, look in the trees for the huge Orb Weaver spiders and have a great nature experience. Take water for your walk.

a big hippo yawning and that's exactly what it looks like, loved it. A bit of a walk to get down to it, but well worth it.

Had a fantastic time visiting the Hippo Yawn on Australia day. Flys greeted us for the great Aussie salute (swatting with hand) .. awesome location

Just a short walk on from Wave Rock is Hippos Yawn. It is worth the walk and is very cool inside the hippos mouth. Take water with you when you do this walk as it is hot and there is not water available along the track

this whole area is amazing and worth the visit, remember aerogard though as the flys can be bad if no wind, the walks can be as easy or as hard as you like, something for everyone.

Hippos yawn is found about 2 Km around the base of wave rock. It is a pleasant bush walk in the morning before it gets too hot. On the walk there are signs explaining the vegetation and you get to see several varieties of wildflowers (in spring). Also there are some interesting shapes on the sides of wave rock to... More

Hippo's Yawn is a large tafone which certainly does look like a big hippo's mouth. Nice walk on a sunny day to see it if you are visiting Wave Rock.
