Helpful and interesting

The lady on duty was helpful and the museum was informative about the early days of Penola. There's plenty to see

We hadn't done much planning before we went to Penola so this was the first stop. They couldn't do enough for us making suggestions without being pushy. If you are going to the Penola/Coonawarra area make this your first stop, even if you have pre-planned your visit.

With only a very short time in this interesting small town, it certainly was a worthwhile visit to this well setup information center. We were given the right information for the short visit here, with the main focus being on seeing some things of interest regarding St Mary Mac Killop

Off the main road. A good place to get your tourist information but there is much more. The interpretive display is very well researched, written, and designed. It describes the development of the area as well as local events. The presentation is one of the best regional interpretations we have come across. The local family research centre is attached to... Dropped in to find out what accommodations options existed - presented with a 5 page list of everything including current prices and phone numbers. Exactly what I wanted.

The team of girls working here are well informed, polite and always ready to assist. The display of local Limestone Coast information is well presented and displayed as is the local small museum of current exhibitions

Lots of information available. The historical displays give a real flavour of the may sides of the area's history. Includes special Anzac section at present.

If you are in to Wine, this is a great place to start.....We spent 3 days in Penola and this place was very helpful in every way. They have a list of all the winery's and attractions. Well worth spending an half hour in there to get your bearings

We called in looking for accommodation and they could not have been more helpful. They hooked us up with a two bedroom unit that we wouldn't have found otherwise. The place has a gallery of prize winners from the John Shaw Nielsen art prize (who would have known he was from here! ) that is well worth stopping by for.... More

We spent 3 weeks driving from Melbourne to Adelaide on the Great Ocean Road, with diversions up to Halls Gap and the Grampians. Having no fixed itinerary, we called in each afternoon to Information centers and just like this one, we were received graciously, given lots of ideas on what to do, then offered help finding accommodation for the same...
