Yalumba's commitment to Coonawarra was confirmed in March 2002 when The Menzies Wine Room & Vineyard was officially opened. Sited at the heart of the Yalumba Menzies Vineyard, the rammed earth building sits amidst a sea of vines on the terra rossa soil that is the very essence of Coonawarra. Surrounding it is an extensive native vegetation area where Yalumba has spent six years working to rehabilitate and rejuvenate the remnant native trees and grasses of the region.

When visiting The Yalumba Menzies Vineyard and Wine Room, why not consider a stay in the Yalumba Menzies Retreat - a fantastic getaway in the heart of the Coonawarra. With panoramic views of the surrounding native revegetation area and Yalumba Menzies vineyard, this B&B stay is ideally situated only minutes away from other award winning wineries, restaurants and other tourism attractions of the Limestone Coast region.

As with all the comments below, a phenomenal venue both inside and out. I'm hesitant to write this review as word will get out!! Beautiful decor with variable bed arrangements. Fully equipped kitchen and lounge with all you need... We really enjoyed cooking after a week on the road. All the provisions you need, both good quality and sufficient quantity.... More

Spent one night there while passing through Coonawarra and immediately wished had booked 2-3 nights minimum! The place will be solely booked by you and is in the heart of the vineyards, with wallabies and birds for company. On arrival there are generous amounts of complimentary provisions that will forestall any first night munchies, while the wood fire comes stocked... More

Stayed recently, 2 solo friends on a road trip from Melbourne to Coonawarra. Menzies Retreat was perfect for us. So peaceful, surrounded by vines and bushland. Wallabies visited twice daily. Lots of birdlife. Wanted for nothing in the house. More than ample and generous provisions for our stay. The lovely Yalumba red left for us was delicious and the glasses... More

We stayed one night and loved our time. Stunning modern architecture with large picture windows to enjoy the views. A beautiful fire place with a large comfy couch made for a lovely evening enjoying the sunset views with a glass or two of their famous wine - complimentary bottle gratefully accepted! The accommodation is right in the vineyard and we... More

I love the Menzies wine room, next time we vist I would like to stay here. it is really peaceful and serene. The only problem here was the limited wine on tasting. They have fab shaped glasses for Cabernet which we bought. I love Yalumba, very good wines at very reasonable prices. If you go here you are going for... More

The Coonawarra is a very welcoming wine district and the Menzies Wine Room is no exception. We spent a lovely time tasting the wine and talking to the very knowledgable lady guiding us through the range of wines. The Reserve Merlot use particularly nice.

What a great choice of a place to stay in Coonawarra. For two couples, it is perfect --- great everything for a short -- or if you are lucky -- a longer stay. Perfect location for touring the wineries. Short distance to town for provisions and dinner. Bikes are furnished, so one can actually bike to town or to the... More

We stayed here for a second time. It is a two bedroom apartment attached to the Yalumba Menzies cellar door. It is set back far from the road, amongst the vines and gum trees, very quiet and peaceful. I haven't been there while the cellar door has been open, so it may be less peaceful with a bunch of drunk... More

This accommodation was everything you could wish for, open fire, good coffee machine, comfortable beds, lovely views (majestic gumtrees lit at night, spectacular), extremely generous breakfast provisions, wine, fresh fruit and in the middle of a beautiful winery.
