We hired a car and drove ourselves so that we could do what we wanted. What a GREAT idea that was :-). You can NOT go to Darwin and not see this park, it is AMAZING. Swimming in the crystal clear, warmish rock pools was such a major highlight. All the waterfalls are awe-inspiring and I have no idea how... More

Visited on 19th May 2012 It took us 1.15 hours to get here from Darwin city,as the highway is a speed limit of 130km ,after you get out of Darwin suburbs. We had a fantastic day here, the weather was just perfect!!! We stopped off at the termite moulds first ,as this is the first stop of interest to look at.it... More

Went over the wknd, we hired a car via budget for about $350 for 4 days. So we decided to go to the waterfalls on the Sunday. We drove up early and arrived within 90 mins. We stopped at Wangi Falls and took some photos as it was closed to swimming. We were unable to stop at Buley Rock Hole... More

Perfect day for swimming in all the crystal clear waters around the park! Great hiking tracks and lots of wildlife and plants of all types to admire. Take lots of water and good shoes etc. Hikes can be rocky. My calves are still sore days later! :) More

All this for free! A beautiful drive through the park (on your own or with a group) takes you to some incredible sights! See 2m high termite mounds, gorges, waterfalls, birds and rock wallabies. A great family day outing with safe swimming in designated areas. Highly recommended! More

We went to the termite mounds which were fantastic, viewed Florence Falls from a lookout, Buley Rockhole which was great but lots of people. Havent seen anything like it before. Then we went to Tolmer Falls which is a bit of a walk but worth it. We finished off with the Wangi falls and it was beautiful there. It was... More

We drove ourselves but could have taken a day tour to cover the same activities. A self drive car would be the cheaper option and provides flexibility to stop at other places on the way to and from. Litchfield National Park is about 1.5 hours south of Darwin and is reached via the small township of Batchelor. We saw the... More

That was what our TravelGuide told us. And it was right. We visited Kakadu and Litchfield Nationalpark and liked Litchfield a lot better. It's a small Park, so you probably won't need longer than two days to see everything, but it's beautiful and worth every second. The tracks are great and you can swim in a lot of the waterfall...
