We went on Cat Balou early in November. The on board commentary was very informative and enjoyable. Just as the lady said we obviously can't guarantee whale sightings a young whale did a full breach right in front of us! We then followed it and its mother for some time, with numerous sightings. We had previously been accompanied by a... More

Informative. Went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable. Saw many dolphins and a whale. Beautiful scenery.

We have spent some time in Eden enjoying the town and the whales for many many years. We always return to Cat Balou Cruises for our whale watching adventures and as always, they have delivered more than one wonderful experience this season for us. Ros and Gordon will always do their best to show you the whales that cruise along... More

There weren't a lot of whales about on the day of my cruise with Cat Balou, but we did follow a mother and calf for quite a while. Later we caught a tail flap from another humpback followed by a chase after more distant whale activity that didn't eventuate in any close encounter. We had wonderful displays by many dolphins... We went out on a really rough day. What amazed me was that they said you could cancel if you didn't want to go out on rough seas and refund your money. I don't know of many travel operators that would ever do that. We went out anyway. It was rough! The boat was clean and comfortable and not crowded.... More

This cruise was great as we were not sure we would see whales as it was now late in the season but Gordon found two different sets of mothers with calves. Ros provided excellent commentary as well as fascinating information about whales and was ably assisted by Judy. Not only did we see whales but we had Dolphins race alongside... More

We were optimistic about seeing whales on this trip as it was the right time of year, but obviously it's not certain. In fact, it was better than we could have hoped. We saw four different groups of humpback whales, some at very close quarters, and two full breaches. I've been lucky enough to go on three whale watching trips... More

I booked for a FAMILY WHALE WATCHING CRUISES scheduled for 11.45 a.m all the way from Melbourne. After reaching a day before the cruise, I called up these guys at Cat Balou cruises about the tour and they suddenly told me to take instead the 31/2 hour WHALE WATCHING CRUISE . Obviously it seems for filling up the empty seats... More

Dear SaK I reply to your negative review I wish to give our side of the story. 1. We offer two whale watching cruises. Our main one departs from the Main Wharf at Eden at 8am daily (subject to weather). The reason for the early start is that conditions on the water are generally calmer & we have more sea... More

I have been on many whale watching cruises over many years and I keep going back to Cat Ballou Cruises. Ros and Gordon go out of their way to ensure passengers have the best experience that they possibly can. I went down last weekend for a cruise on Saturday and Sunday. On the Saturday the swell and winds were up... More
