The most difficult place to drive down to. No parking space anywhere near. Best is to park a few hundred metres near the Chatris and walk down through the thronging crowd. Extremely crowded area, will be pushed, pulled & flocked. Be ready...get..set... go

The maratha empire starts sinking in your mind, Holkar dynasty becomes live. Cameras are allowed, but there is nominal fee. Don't miss this part of the history.

Till recently, the area used to remain up and running 24/7 throughout the year. However due to police restrictions it is now restricted till 12:00 in the night. The street food is fabulous. You can go to absolutely any vendor and pick anything, chances are you will be amazed at the quality and taste. The Rajwada palace is also very... More

Rajwada is a historical palace in Indore city. It was built by the Holkars of the Maratha Empire about two centuries ago. This seven storied structure is located near the Chhatris and serves today as a fine example of royal grandeur and architectural skills. The Palace was constructed by the Muslim artisans from Mandu who worked for the Mughals but... More

It is of historical importance and the external facade looks impressive but the insides are very simple and unattractive. There is a museum in which one can learn about the history of Holkar family. The real reason to visit this place is the shopping hub located behind it. There is the Bada sarafa which has innumerable jewellery shops and also... More

Rajwada is in the centre of the Indore City. Nice place to visit and know about the history on Indore. Nearby you will find thousands of small shops for your day to day shopping. Right behind Rajwada is the Sarafa Market which is a gold/jewellery market in the day and a foodies heaven in the night, right in front on... More
