if you stand under the cliff, you can not figure out how the ancient people to carve the vivid living scenes on these enormous rocks. Maybe this is the way history goes, some carved in rock, some written in paper, some, just fade away~

I read the writing about this place for long time. And proud to admit, when my friends know that I had been there via my facebook album, they are all delighted.

Visited in 2009 and found it interesting but you have to close your eyes to the usual China tourism squalor (gift shops, concrete paths, etc.). In 2009 we could climb the hills and stray off the sidewalks where we found additional carvings un-enhanced that were much more interesting. I enjoyed this place but think for non-artists it might be too far for too little. Its highly commercialised "exit through the gift shop" and very much on the tour bus circuit. That said the rock carvings are interesting - if heavily "enhanced" to improve their kerb appeal.
