Underrated Gem

Gorgeous scenery together with some peace and quiet away from the noise of the megaphones and the crowds. One of the highlights of my trip in China. Underrated gem.

This was actually a great break away from the noisy tourist at ZJJ and Wulingyuan scenic areas. The scenery is stunning and varied, I preferred it to any other part of the park we visited! You start with a descent down the canyon, approx 1600 steps. Steps are well maintained and there are railings the entire way. It was not... More

The whole walk from going down into the canyon, the slides, walking the gorge-bottom trail, to the final boat ride down the "estuary" takes about three hours at a leisurely pace. It is relatively quiet and really quite serene - unusual a Chinese attraction - as the crowds are at the main scenic spots for Zhangjiajie. An unexpected but interesting... More

the initial part of climbing DOWN the stairs can be tiring, but the view is worth the walk. Nice waterfalls and boatrides. Of course cannot compare to the real grand canyon

we are told that it's gonna be a long day when we visited this place. 900 downstairs?challenge accepted! my family happily take the stairs to see how beautiful this grand canyon is. and in the end of the downstairs, we got an unique experience, a slide to go down (maybe the height is more than 60 meters that's divided into... We did this walk on our last day and loved it. There was small spots for zip-lines, slides, and ton of incredible waterfalls. Really loved this walk.

Me and my family stayed at a hotel 20 km away from the canyon and the car ride took 30 minutes. When we arrived the tickets cost 72 yuan per person. When you enter the park you will be stunned by the beautiful scenery. I also enjoyed that inside the canyon you can take a zip line that goes over... More

Definitely worthwhile, stunning views, nice attactions (at a small extra fee). Pay the extra fee for the bus to bring you up to the entrance. Walking up is not a good idea. After arrival there are many steps to go down on (with handrails, safe enough) and then slide down to the valley, good fun.

It was rainy a little while we were there but this was one of our favorite places. There were some beautiful and tall waterfalls almost everywhere we looked. My kids 6 & 7 really enjoyed this area as well.

RMB118 entrance fee then a 6km walk which took us 2 hours including several activities such as slide, flying fox and boat trip. Each additional activity excluding the boat trip costed a small fee but was definitively worth the price. We took a taxi from Harmona Resort and Spa which took 20 minutes. Bus back to the hotel for RMB... More
