The Friday Afternoon Tasting Tour was one of the highlights of our visit to Raleigh. We had generous samples from five leading restaurants-including wine and dessert-and each one was a winner. The owners or managers greeted us and talked a bit about their approach to food. Even the tour guide was a bit of a foodie and local historian. There... More

My wife and I were very impressed by the tour. All of the restaurants were very inviting and generous with their samples. We went on the dinner and drinks tour and were full by the third restaurant. Highly recommend!

Honestly, we were a little concerned about taking this food tour. Our last tour with this company (Raleigh Roots) was not impressive. This tour though, (Raleigh Downtown Dinner and Drinks) was very good. We had plenty of good food; Sam was a pleasant guide, and the group of people we toured with was very nice. The restaurant called Garland was... More

Just finished our tour. We were a group of 12 people and our guide Tony was fantastic. The walking tour was very informative and the restaurant selections were perfect. I would highly recommend this to anyone as long as you ask for Tony as your guide.

We had a group of six celebrating a 50th birthday within a whole group of 15 people. There were three others in the group that were celebrating birthdays also. So everyone got into the birthday celebrating. The birthday boy is a foodie and we wanted to try something different. This was a great time. We went to six locations -... More

Fun tour, good way to explore new city and experience local eateries. Great guide, Jeanne, well spoken and versed in local knowledge. The Greenlight was exceptional. LucetteGrace for dessert was so so....no coffee offered with dessert, no liqueur served at this restaurant with dessert....disappointing end to otherwise great experience.

The location, walk and tour guide (Sam) are excellent. This is a great way to see downtown Raleigh and learn some history, as well as get a good sense of the restaurant scene. The disappointment was in the choice of eateries. "Gravy," the wine shop and "Treat" (ice cream parlor) were very good. The steak house was sizzle but no... More

Three of us did the Saturday afternoon tour. Our tour group of 15 was a really fun group led by Sam whose skills as an educator pay off for those in her group. She kept us on schedule, was organized, informative and fun. We visited four restaurants: Bolt (three tastings) Gravy (one tasting with wine pairing) The Roast Grill (hot... More

We visited 4 restaurants, a wine shop and Treat for ice cream. Each location offered something unique. Loved hearing about the history of each restaurant and what makes them special. Good food, wine, and dessert. This is my 3rd tour and each time we visited different restaurants- great to do with friends, family, out of town guests.

I did the Raleigh Roots tour on a Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed all of the stops and appreciated seeing some of the "hot spots" that locals love. The places seemed to have a bit of history or an interesting story as well. Plenty to eat/ drink on the tour.
