A wealth of historic buildings and grounds. The entire capital area is easy to walk around and reach the many historic areas. The original capital building has been renovated and provides a view into the past. I highly recommend it. On Saturdays there is a tour that highlights the key historic buildings. More

I enjoyed the grounds but really found the unique statue of George Washington interesting. The old library is my favorite place. Touring the building shouldn't take more than an hour. And there are plenty of places to eat nearby. More

While visiting I learned that North Carolina is a valley of humility betwixt two mountains of conceit: Virginia and South Carolina. It's capitol reflects this well.
