Pilot Mountain, with its distinct rocky pinnacle, is visible from miles away, beckoning travelers to visit. There are three ways to see the summit. The first is to drive to the summit. There is a parking lot at the summit and it's just a short, easy walk to the Little Pinnacle Overlook for fantastic views of the Big Pinnacle, surrounding... More

Great campsite at the River section of Pilot Mountain. Went with 10 kids and 8 adults and the camping was besides the river with a large mowed field and several grills nearby. Pilot mountain was a lot of fun to hike and climb.

Super place to climb for beginners and the more advanced. Anchors at the top provide easy set-up. Visitors can drive to the top, where there is ample parking and enjoy some great views of the surrounding area. There are a few hikes, with the easiest being a loop round the knob. Well worth a visit.

Bring your lunch in a backpack and take to the trails. Great views, nice trails, and a picnic area, too. Trail map indicates easy to difficult trails and trails are well marked. We took our daughter and son-in-law for a hike and picnic and had a wonderful day!

We camp here often. Park on the river is nice too. Have not done the hike from the river to the mtn yet.
