Just stunning - definitely understood why it is so highly rated. Not our first time there, and not our last either!

There is no place better to relax and enjoy a vacation, I have been going to this piece of Heaven since 1979, I would choose no other place to stay, long beach with plenty of room and sea to look at, no worries or frustration, JUST PARADISE, if you are one of those who likes to walk a board walk... A beautiful place to watch sunrise. Almost deserted this time of year. Nice boardwalk over dunes to beach. Unfortunately the bathrooms by parking lot were locked and water turned off. Oh well, the view was worth it.

if you're in need of a lifeguard after September, bring a friend who is a strong swimmer and loves to watch --- sunrise, sunsets, yoga, meditate, sound of the waves and the salt air -- what more could you possibly want ---

This is a beautiful wide white sandy beach similar to those found on much of the Outer Banks. This one is more remote because visitors need to get to Ocracoke island by ferry. There is a restroom changing area with outside showers and a big parking lot. The beach has a lifeguard in season but did not when we visited.... More

Liked that there was a lifeguard nearby. This spot was very crowded , but well-kept. Even the fiddler's crabs are harmless, just curious. Has a adequate restroom & shower. And the walkway keeps your feet from getting burnt. There is also a Notice of tides for that day & safety precautions.

If you don't have a 4 wheel drive, this is the place to go. Also, check out the campground beach. It's what everyone comes here for.

The Ocracoke Lifeguarded Beach is a very wonderful place along the Atlantic seaboard. I have been to most every significant beach from Maine to Florida and this beach is uniquely beautiful. Since it is on a barrier island about 20 miles from the mainland accessible only by ferry, boat, or air, it feels wild and remote. The sand is white... More
