It is so nice to go to a beach that is not crowded, dirty and loud! This beach is peaceful, clean and you don't have to fight for a space to put your stuff. Love it!

This is the only legal place to have a bonfire on the beach. So, grab a burning permit from the park service, go down by the water within the posts and light up some logs. You have to be off the beach by nine but it so worth it.

You can walk for miles looking for that perfect shell, play in the surf, or just enjoy life under your umbrella. There are restrooms with changing facilities & showers. A relatively short walk on a wooden walkway ramp takes you over the dunes to the beach. Ramp with a sitting area is nice for those physically challenged but there are... More

I've been there about 5 times during my trip. It aways smells like dog poop for about 5 minutes then you get accustomed to it. Maybe all beaches & oceans smell like that and I just don't frequent them enough to know better. I would also like the lifeguards to announce when they are done for the day. I imagine... More

We went to Ocracoke for the day. I had never been there before, after walking around the marina and shops, we went to the beach and watched the sun set, because we had no agenda. Since Ocracoke is a small island, there is not much light pollution. This made it PERFECT for stargazing. We could see the Milky Way beautifully... More

You can find a somewhat crowded or empty stretch of beach with plenty of sunlight and relatively warm water

All of the beach in Ocracoke is nice. I prefer the beach access across from the Pony Pens, which is further north but less people. However, Lifeguard Beach has more/slightly better bathrooms. Much better than that nasty ol' overrated Myrtle Beach.

Great beach to walk down, catch some waves, and look for shells. the water is usually warm due to the Gulf Stream, warmer than on Hatteras Island. The sand here is nice and soft also.

This beach is so awesome. When I visit the island, I go running in the am and to watch the sunrise. I had the beach to myself for the last 2 mornings. It is very convenient to the village and has lots of parking. It also has changing rooms and public restrooms. Great place to spend the day enjoying the... More

we spent an hour collecting she'll sit is a really beautiful beach unfortunately it was so windy we had to have our hoods up on our jackets on the plus side there was only one 4x4 on the beach which was about a mile away, so in the summer it would be great to spend several hours there.
