This lifeguarded beach was surprisingly empty and serene during the day. It would be very safe to bring children here for swimming.

Without a 4 wheel drive, the beach is not convenient. It's a long walk to the bathroom and the section with a lifeguard is small. Ocracoke is one of my favorite places on earth. I'm just not a fan of the section with a lifeguard. Give me all the rest!

...you should probably make this one. Fine sands and a plethora of shells will be there to greet you. It's clean and breathtakingly beautiful. You can walk for miles along the shore if you like without running into a crowd of folks.

We walked for two hours, NO litter! Just sand with shells. Very few people on the beach. We had our dog with us, and found the other dog owners to be courteous. No dog poo. The bathhouse was clean. A highlight of our visit.

Outer Banks beaches are lovely, but the Ocracoke beach is especially nice. It is wide, clean, and easy to access.

We loved visiting this beach, it's gorgeous. Lots of space, clean sand However be aware of the rip tide with the sea it really can pull you out in minutes.

Beautiful beach with nice facilities. Unfortunately the day I went the waves were way too big. A local young woman said she had managed to dive under one but was frightened by how long it took to come up. And when she tried to get out of the water, she was knocked down several times. I was glad I hadn't... More

The beaches on Ocracoke are beautiful!! The immediate areas around the beach accesses can get a little crowded, but if you move 100 years further you will have plenty of space to yourselves! The water stays shallow for a while so it is a great place for kids!

We visited Ocracoke Island in September 2015. We went to several beaches but came to the life guarded beach several times. The beach was ours from 8am till about 9:45 when others started coming. We were there after a storm one morning and the beach had a drop off of 8"-18" from the waves pounding the night before and had... More
