The beach area was natural which made it beautiful. Although February, the sun was shining and the temperature of almost 70 degrees made it perfect for a quiet walk along the sand.

If you are looking for a nice quiet secluded spot on the beach, no matter what time of the year, then Ocracoke Beach is the place to be. Lifeguarded area is the most highly populated, I choose to pick a spot far from the hustle and bustle of mass tourists. These spots are readily available all down Hwy 12............ have... More

I have been going to Ocracoke Beach for over twenty years and I love it. Nothing compares. Beautiful water, sand, sand dunes. Everyone is quiet and minds there own business. Whether I drive my 4-wheel truck and set up for a day of fun, fishing, and food; or just grab a beach chair and towels and stay for an hour....it... More

When it comes to rate & review beaches, After I have been in Vieques Island, Culebras Island, and Mona Island,(at 50 feet you could see the sand and think is only 5 -6 feet deep) you will not give too many 5's to any other Beach, for the East Coast of the Continental US of A it is an Above... More

Most beaches on Ocracoke require 4WD vehicles to get there, plus a permit to drive on them. But, there are plenty of places to rent such vehicles at reasonable rates. This particular beach requires no special vehicle. All are welcome to park and walk up over the dune to the endless shoreline. The beach there, not unlike most all the... More

Finally introduced my family to Ocracoke and they instantly fell in love. Great beaches and not crowded, plus excellent surf fishing.

We love coming to Ocracoke every year. The beautiful beach is the number one reason. It's clean, not developed, quiet, and there aren't a lot of people. Depending which ramp you chose, it's possible you could be the only person on the beach. The day use area closest to town has showers, rest rooms, and a changing areas, but the... More

Great parking , clean bathrooms and dressing rooms, outside shower, boardwalk to the beach! I never saw a lifeguard but did see a forest ranger patroling the parking lot and beach area. Beautiful clean beaches.

We made the long drive to Ocracoke from Kitty Hawk early in our vacation week. The day we went there was a surf advisory for Kitty Hawk, but not Orcacoke, so we knew we would be able to swim. After having lunch in town, we headed to the beach. It was stunning, a long stretch of perfect, uncrowded beach. Highly... More
