You definitely want to go here! Take the ferry from Cape Hatteras over to Ocracoke Island. It's completely gorgeous! It's non-commercialized and it doesn't have cell phone reception so it's calm and relaxing. There are plenty of good restaurants. Visited the beach during the Irene evacuation. Clean beach with parking and area to wash off. Would be nice if someone would fix the washing station outside the bathrooms as we couldn't get it to shut off (seems to waste water). Couples and families at the beach. More
