Nice bar, plenty of umbrella for shade ( or in our case, rain) First night, we did not know that kitchen closed at 7:00. Waitress got right to us and got the order for delicious seafood. Atmosphere was casual and friendly. And the view of the boats and sunsets were wonderful Went back the next night, cause we could!

The Marina rents dock space, has fueling options, and a small supply store. Part of the Marina is SmacNally's, which has good food and drinks. Mostly shaded seating available. There are several charter boats coordinated by the Marina that offer both inshore and offshore fishing, as well as sound fishing. I have charted both the Devereaux and the Drumstick for... More

After walking, riding around in your golf cart (rent), bicycling, settle down to a 'cool one' and a delicious snack, or buy a 'memory' from one of the gift shops.

The first time we were here we stayed at Captain's Landing. Won't do that again. You have to go through hoops through a realtor and the owners are extremely pleasant until you get there. They then forget who you are. At Anchorage you don't have to do that. If you can book one of the suites 601 or 602. Best... More

I have always enjoyed my day trips to Ocracoke Island, truly a heaven on earth, when I make my annual spring pilgrimage to Hatteras Village. This year, I decided to spend my first night on Ocracoke Island until my Hatteras rental was available. The idea of sleeping and waking up in Paradise was something I truly looked forward to experiencing.... More

This is a nice spot to just hang out & watch the boats come in with the "catch of the day". You may even get to watch the fish getting cleaned. There is a small gift shop & Smacnallys serves up cold drinks along with sea-faring menu items. They can accomodate your ferry ride to the mainland. It's nice to... More

Hop off the boat, they'll lend a hand if you need one -- great place to tie of for a burger at Smacs and fine tunes in the afternoon -- great place for sunsets on the creek.

Three dock hands (including owner Bill Gilbert and Marco) make docking a dream. No better help with lines, shore power and water anywhere. Friendlier and more accommodating people you will not find! Coming in here is a pleasant experience itself. Great casual bar/restaurant lots of times with live entertainment. Nice high rise motel overlooking the harbor.

I have stayed at Anchorage twice, and enjoyed both visits very much. If you are willing to spend a little extra, I especially recommend the top floor suites. They are not luxurious (few things on Ocracoke are) but they are spacious and very nice.

If you're on the Island for just a few days, this is a great place to stay. The view of the harbor is breathtaking. It has a pool! Some of the rooms could use new beds and decor, they're looking a little tired and dated. But it's still comfortable and clean.
