Can't climb it but it's a wonderful light house to visit. Beautiful grounds with a long boardwalk. The top of the lighthouse is visble from many areas around the harbor. Beautiful at night. Bring the bug spray if the wind is light.

This is another nice trail Ocracoke has to offer. An easy but beautiful walk - pet friendly. Wear bug spray - which is pretty much a given everywhere in Ocracoke.

this is a nice shady, pretty walk with some opportunities for bird watching in the marshes but don't expect it to take more than 30 minutes

You will find this nature trail about 3 miles outside Ocracoke opposite the camping site, it is about ¾ mile long twisting and turning through pine trees and bushes, the trail is on sand and board walks but wear correct foot ware as there are pine tree roots across a lot of the trail.we didn't see any wildlife as it was... Take your bug spray and hat, so you can really enjoy a slow walk. Some will want a long-sleeved shirt. You'll move from scrub by the road to pine, then marsh on path and Boardwalk. Listen to the hush under the thick long-needle pines, feel the breeze from the salt marsh, be surrounded by yellow-rumped warblers, marsh wrens, tower, egret... More

If you have never walked through a very well maintained nature trail on a wind swept barrier island this is the one to try. This is NOT Staten Island or Martha's Vineyard. Everyone should see this!

I highly recommend walking the nature trails in this area. There's a lot of beautiful trees and plant life to see, and of course it's good exercise! Definitely something different to do if you need a "break" from the beach and hot sun.

Small short easy trail to walk. I really enjoyed this trail. It's very peaceful, but carry some bug spray with you just in case! lol

Great spot to take a quite walk, or, bring the kiddies to see a natural habitat area. One of our favorite walks after dinner, great viewing of our feathered friends, (bring binoculars & a camera). Can be a bit buggy, watch where you step, please don't pick the flowers.

There's more to Ocracoke than just the beach! If you love trees and song birds, you'll want to take this easy but enchanted walk. I was amazed that, with the ocean so close, I found myself in a secluded woods. A wonderful variety of plants creates a dense thicket that's a haven for birds. If you want a magical escape... More
