Lovely quiet beach to enjoy the sunset. My 16 year old daughter loves to just go relax near the pier.

Oak Island beaches are the best! People are spread out and not right on top of eachother. We love the peacefulness of going to the beach and staying all day. We walk back to the house for lunch and then return to the beach! So peaceful and lovely! We go back every year!

If you want rat race go South. Even on busy weekends this place is great. Dogs are still welcome on the beach. Nice verity of places to eat. Catch crabs on the crab dock, get a cold beer at the Pirates Deck. Its all good.

... the area southern style low country style food is a delight.. plentiful and varied... no high rises but rental condos are sprinkled among rental homes .... because of how the island is positioned there are sunrises and sunsets . Check out the fun in October when it's warm enough to walk beaches, the restaurants are still open at the... More

Oak Island's beaches can't be beat. The island itself is largely residential, which is what give it its real charm. There are no high-rise condos. There's no beer and partying strip. It's just a quiet uncluttered island. The beaches tend to be fairly deserted for long stretches, and the strand itself is usually wide, smooth, and clean. Perfect for walking... More

Very nice white sand beaches. Plenty of room to walk and enjoy the ocean, sand and salubrious breezes. Rivals any beach anywhere, but best cause it's home!

Nice wide sandy beaches. Popular sunbathing spots are near the fishing piers, but suggest you do any swimming away from fishing activity areas. Food can be found near the piers as well. Check a local map as there is a canal in the middle of part of the island and you can only cross over to the beach in a... More

This is an awesome beach on the coast of NC and not a lot of people know about it. Therefore, it is very peaceful and quiet. A bucket list beach for sure!!!!
