Our Trolley Tour guide, Kathy, was terrific. Using show-and-tell props and a chatty, story-telling manner, she introduced the history of New Bern, pointed out historic buildings, took us to a cemetery and inside a church (which has a "Vinegar" Bible), and gave us lots of details about the town. We highly recommend this tour ($10). One small note: the tour... More

One thing about New Bern you soon learn when you arrive is that there is a lot of history. Taking the Trolley Tour is a great investment of $16 and 90 minutes. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She kept the tour going and was able to answer long questions without losing her focus. The tour pretty much covers... More

we purchased our tickets via the website before arriving. As busy as New Bern was we were the only guests on the trolly. We had a private tour! Phyllis our tour guide was filled with information and we learned a lot. Such a shame no one else chose to ride the Trolly that day.

As described: "Beary Merry Christmas Tour Celebrate the Holiday season with a 60-minute trolley tour through the downtown historic district highlighting the Holiday decorations our downtown merchants are showcasing in their windows. The tour also includes a stop at the Aerie Bed & Breakfast for storytelling and a tour of this beautiful 1882 Victorian home." Well. First I want to... More

Touring the beautifully restored homes and the reconstructed British governor's mansion is a gentle and really informative experience. The docents are amazing. Their knowledge is comprehensive and they guide you as personably as you might have dreamed a southern lady to be. The other 'players' (cook and serving maid) are equally gracious and extremely knowledgeable. Even the security guards were... More

John Gaston White did a great job bringing colonial New Bern to life. We were with a group from all over the state and everyone was so amazed and interested It was a great representation of New Bern! Very informative and a great prelude to the Palace.

Definitely a good use of your time and money as you are sightseeing in New Bern. The tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly and shared a variety of facts from all different time periods. The trolley was fun, clean, and comfy. We would have never known as much about New Bern without the trip and we appreciated the town... More

We went on this 90 minute trolley ride and loved it! We got a great overview of the city and a TON of history. The guide was very thorough and interesting! This is a wonderful introduction to the city!

The 90-minute tour shows off the history of New Bern with three stops, one at the cemetery, one at Christ Church, and one at the academy. The final stop was really just a chance to stretch your legs as there was nothing much to see in the grass lot where we stood. We toured with a local who was able... More

It amazed us when we moved here the history that is within this little town. If you are visiting take a trolley tour from Tryron Palace to see and hear about the town. Grab a map and find the bears! I still chuckle when I am asked what they mean because I once did the same thing although we didn't... More
