I love historic places and this was a great place to go for a day. First off we got a military discount since my husband is active duty. We didn't have to ask for it they just gave it to us so thats always a plus. The building its self is just beautiful as well as the grounds. The tour... more

New NC resident, so appreciated the one-to-one education by some of the staff on local history. Beautiful, well maintained grounds. more

New Bern was NC's first permanent capitol, colonial or otherwise, and the Palace was constructed there to serve as the governor's residence and center of colonial government. Tryon Palace is the state's first historic site. The history is fascinating, the architecture is breathtaking, the gardens are beautiful, and the interpreters are great. We go as often as possible! Highly recommended!! more
