Description: Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since...
Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

My husband and I stopped by ONS on the way through Mount Airy on our honeymoon. We absolutely loved the atmosphere. We wanted to have a wine tasting and dinner. We were not disappointed. Zach was our bartender/server/and wine effeciando. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and an awesome server and host! The wines and food were delicious. We... More

Not you average sandwich shop. Nice selection of sandwiches and wraps and soup if the day. Great ambiance with wood floors, beams and tin ceiling. Large bar for wine tasting or ordering with a large selection of wines. Large stroller friendly and kid friendly. Quinoa veggie burger was unique and tasty.

We were traveling home from Childress Vineyard over the Valentine weekend and had read about this winery. It was Sunday afternoon, a beautiful clear day. Cute town. The building has some history to it and that intrigued us as well. There is food service..we had just eaten a short while before coming here..but the smell of the sandwiches was heavenly.... More

We stopped in for lunch here (over the nostalgic Snappy's Lunch or the Soda Fountain) because it stated it was a brewery and winery. There was 1 local brew on tap for us to try. It seemed much more oriented to wine that beer. We ordered lunch. Most in the party got the pasta salad on the side. It was... More

We went to the winery on a Thursday night and they had live entertainment and great wine. The atmosphere was wonderful and was a fun time!! The prices on the wine are excellent and the quality of the wine was great! A very nice way to unwind after a long day!!

My husband and I had heard great things about this place and stopped by one Saturday afternoon on our long weekend in the area. There were probably 5 patrons outside and 4-5 inside. The man behind the bar ignored us to the point of not even making eye contact while we sat at the bar. After about 12 minutes a... More

Stopped by to pick up some of my favorite wine. It was lunch time and the restaurant we were hoping to have lunch at was totally booked. Saw the menu at Old North State and decided to give it a try. We were very happy with our decision. Taylor suggested the Reuben and said that the Riesling paired well with... More

The main room at Old North State is very open and inviting, with dark wood and a smattering of tables throughout. Bar service can be a little slow when busy, but that's to be expected as it's one of the few places in town to get a drink and relax late night. They have a good selection of wines and... More

We drive an hour just to come here and have a glass of wine on our days off. We live Ashley, she's a great addition to the team, very friendly and bubbly. They are 1 of 2 wineries that we like ALL of the wines they offer. Their food is inexpensive and always fresh. The cute little town of Mayberry... More
