Description: Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since...
Old North State Winery started as a cooperative in 2002 and has since evolved into a winery owned by two families with one vision. Our vineyards were established on farms that have been in our families for generations. We hope you enjoy the culmination of our dreams, our devotion to our farmland, and our passion for our wines produced at Old North State Winery. Most of our wines start out as luscious wine grapes grown on Yadkin Valley North Carolina family farms. We are the Old North State Winery, Inc. located in Mount Airy, in the headwaters of the Yadkin Valley AVA. Wine, beer and fine foods are our passion and our legacy.

Ask for Zack to do your wine tasting. He knows his wine, isn't pushy but makes you want to hang around. He is considerate of his visitors and even made a special effort to provide a tasting to a handicapped visitor who could not get to the serving bar. What a guy! Wine is remarkably inexpensive and very good. A... More

We visited here on our first day of arriving, after wine tastings at 2 vineyards. Great old building with a beautiful bar. We sat at the bar and each had a wine flight of 3 Fish Hippie reds, and decided to order an early dinner of pasta and a chicken quesadilla. We really enjoyed talking to Savannah, as she was... More

I took my mom here when she came to visit me in Winson. I had been before and thought it was great. Amanda was our bartender for our tasting today and was EVEN BETTER than the first time I was there. Attentive and personable, which pairs well with great wine. You also can't go wrong with the shrimp nachos. If... More

We had a group in visiting from Japan, took them to lunch here (solid deli type food offerings), ended up staying for wine sampling for "dessert". The staff could not have been more accommodating, they made this stop on the trip extra memorable for our guests. Open spacious seating plan with the right blend of music truly made this a... More

Great options for tasting several wines. The lunch menu and food was delicious! Good deals on buying multiple bottles of wine to take home. Nice and informative staff.

It's hard to go and visit Mount Airy and not stop here. Everybody is always nice, helpful and enjoys talking to the customers. The wines are made right here, and they are top notch with several awards. They have entertainment in the evenings and a small grill with great food choices. Just a really nice place to sit back. They... More

My mother, two friends, and I were looking for a great winery and good time....look no further :) Staff member and bartender Zach did a great job, very knowledgeable about the wine and area, and showed us a great time! Wine was excellent, environment was calm and relaxing; although we only did wine tasting the food smelled absolutely wonderful. Would... More

This was a wonderful establishment. ...Zack the bar - keep who assisted with our wine tasting was knowledgeable, courteous and a great conversationist....adding to the overall charm of this establishment. Service went above and beyond expectations and I would highly recommend visiting! Great selection of dry/semi-dry and sweet wines with much to see in surrounding areas - making for a... More
