Did not know what to expect when we drove up. We ended up having more fun than we thought. Had do much fun feeding the animas and watching them as we drove thru. They came over expecting to be fed and it was a lot of fun. so many interesting animals. Great place for the family. prices were reasonable too.

This is the most family fun we have had in a really long time. We live in Hickory and went to Lazy 5 this past Sunday 10/18 and had a blast! I took my 14 yr old daughter, my 17 yr old son, my 85 yr old mother in law and my two friends. We all had a great time.... More

Loved this place! Definitely worth the 7.5 hour drive. The staff were friendly and knew many things about their animals. At the time of our visit (10/2014), there were many baby animals to pet, feed and hold (in the case of one frisky baby goat). There are three different ways to experience the animals and I would recommend doing all... More

We visited on a day with off and on rain showers, so the wagon ride we planned to go on was cancelled. We decided to do the drive through since we had come out from Charlotte. Due to the rain, lots of the animals were staying under the trees. But the ostriches and llamas were out in full force. We... More

At check in I said I was more interested in watching than feeding the animals so did not take any feed bucket. I like the previous post's suggestion to not feed the animals at the beginning of the road. I was not interested in having a buffalo stick his head in the car window! This place is worth the visit... This is a great place for children and their families! It provides up-close-and-personal contact with the wide variety of animals inhabiting the ranch: giraffes, rhino, zebras, water buffalo, bison, goats, deer, antelope, sheep, donkeys, birds, giant turtles, exotic birds, llamas, alpacas, lemurs, long-horned cattle, pot-bellied pigs, to name a few. We decided to take the wagon tour of the property... More

I had read about Lazy 5 Ranch and wanted to visit for a while. We were in the area and decided to check it out and it was the highlight of our trip! The wagon was running when we went so we had to drive through. You pay per person and get a bucket of food for your car. We... More

While visiting our relatives in Statesville NC, we decided to take a ride to Mooresville to visit the Lazy 5 Ranch. We had heard many good things about this place, and decided to see it for ourselves. Upon reaching the main gate off of the main road, we followed the driveway to the pay booth, where we payed for our... More

We've been to The Lazy 5 many times over the past 18 years. Riding on a farm wagon pulled by draft horses and feeding the eager animals is a lot of fun. You can't get out of your car or off the wagon to pet anything, but plenty of the animals will come right up to you. I don't recommend... More

Love going to the lazy 5 ranch and riding the horse-drawn wagon! Informative drivers, lots of fun feeding the animals and even better fun to see the kids reactions!
