My family and I went rafting on a half day tour with Blue Heron, and I sincerely wish we had've done a whole day. The water was low, so the rapids were more "technical," but still very enjoyable. My mom even fell in, but since we were given proper situational training before we left, we were able to pull her... More

Glad you enjoyed the trip, and the lunch. The full day trip would be a great next step for you. A couple more hours on the river and a big, fun class IV rapid called Frank Bell's. Thanks again for rafting with us and for writing a review. We really appreciate it. Oh, and it's been raining so the rapids... More

This was my first whitewater rafting experience so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, the Blue Heron group quickly dispelled any worries or concerns that I had. The owner was onsight and was very informative and friendly. Our guides Drew and Josh gave an excellent safety overview. They were a lot of fun and it was easy to see... More

Thanks for coming rafting with us! We really appreciate it. We get a special joy and excitement when we get to share our love of rivers and rafting with first time rafters. You bring the many reasons we love our jobs and this sport back home again. Thank you for that. Hope to see you again on the river. More

Went for a bachelor party and had a wonderful time! Will do it again! The weather was sunny and it rained on us mid trip. Lots of wild life and the guides filling you in with info about the area! The showers were clean and the oatmeal cookies were good! Thanks ya'll!

We went to Blue Heron in July and it had not rained very much so the river was very low. We had young children so we took the float trip. The youngest was four. Sandy helped us along with Sam. They were great guides. The river took about 3 hours but it was so relaxing. The guides were very safety... More

All the staff were extremely polite and friendly. From Josh checking us in and briefing us on the trip to my river guide Bobby, they made the trip very enjoyable. Bobby's knowledge of both the river and local history was impressive. The facility they have built is also very clean and accommodating to change and shower after your trip.If you... More

Very good experience. Professionals first and foremost. We had one of the owners (Sandy) as our guide. She was super personable and knowledgeable about how to handle a group. I would have liked to have had a little more history and story-telling and a little bit less of the guiding directions. It was low-key but constant. Still a pleasant experience.... More

Thanks for rafting with us. Glad to hear you had a good trip. We also love the full day trip and do it whenever people request that trip, and water levels permit. It's been kind of a dry late summer and there is really not enough water in the river. It's raining right now though, so we are hoping to... More

BHW did an outstanding job of guiding our group on the French Broad. The team clearly likes what they do and had great knowledge of the local area and history. I would recommend these guys to anyone interested in rafting - Ian was our guide and he was great.

BHW is an excellent rafting group. We just came off the French Broad with them after the first full-day in a while. Water was up!! BHW pays much attention to safety, and Josh and Bobby know how to run that river. Thanks guys!!

Really can't say enough on what a great experience this was. Took my two boys, ages 8 and 12, and they can't wait to go again. Ian was a terrific guide and very patient with us newbies. The half day afternoon trip was about 2 hours on the river. We will be coming back to do the full day trip.... More
