My cousin and I I took my 15 year old, her 13 year old and ten year old cousins to Ghost Town last year. We had gone to Lake Winne (in Chattanooga, TN) the previous three years. The kids LOVED Ghost Town...even with the limited rides. They loved the saloon show and loved the gunfight. They got to talk to... more
If you want a family and couples friendly trip back in time to the wild west, then Ghost Town In The Sky In Maggie Valley NC is just what the doctor ordered. The amusement park is about 4000 feet up on top of a mountain and you can only get there via a hair lift ride.Scarrrryyyyy! But it WAS WONDERFUL!!!!!! The views... more
I went with a friend and some kids, and the kids had a good time, although the main attraction was still not working, the looping roller coaster. The shootout and western town was fun, but overall it was sort of lame. Tweetsie Railroad is a nicer place and more full service, has more rides. This only had 2 or 3... more
If you have visited Ghost Town years ago, do not go back thinking it is still the same. Many of the rides are no longer there and the rides that remain are few. We went in spring and the roller coaster and train were down, then we went again in fall and the coaster and train were STILL down. Admission... more
We visited in September and bought season passes as we only live a 40 minute drive away. You have 3 choices getting to the park on top of the mountain ~ chairlift, tram straight up the mountain (isn't running yet), and bus. I recommend the chairlift ~ it's incredible! The views are one of a kind and the 15 minute... more
My husband and I both traveled to Ghost Town as children and remembered a decent sized amusement park, a cliffside roller coaster, wonderful shows and fun. So when someone gave us free tickets, we jumped at the chance to go back. We *did* have fun, but I was really disappointed by the park and it's very unlikely that we'll go... more
We visited this park with our 6 year old and 11 month old on July 17, 2008.....my husband was there 35 +/- years ago, so it was a must see, no matter what previous reviews were. We can say that they are seriously putting money into this park to make it nice again. All fencing around rides, etc., was new.... more
The park is almost completely renevated. The small train, roller coaster and incline railroad are yet to open. All of the buildings were open downtown and the rides were open except for the above listed rides. I was there on 6-5-08. This is a smaller park with only a few rides. The salon show was enjoyable. The bluegrass show is... more
We thought we'd really be spending the whole day here. But after 2 hours even my 6 years old was ready to go. "Ghost town" is the perfect name for this place. not hardly worth the $29 a piece for admission. no music, 6 big rides & 2 was "closed for repairs" as were alot of other things there. the... more
