We got a great package with lift tickets, equipment rental and five days of lessons. Week days are best if you can.

Not a bad sized mountain for the area. I was a skier and I live in CO, but traveled here to meet up with friends from FL. I took the opportunity to learn how to snowboard when I was on smaller slopes. I took a lesson and the first instructor was terrible. He had no patience, was yelling at people... More

Took a drive up and the views were gorgeous ...ranch with horses worth the trip up the road. Had time to kill before our next stop and glad we took the drive up.

Just like so many other Floridians, we traveled up to the Maggie Valley area of North Carolina during Christmas for a getaway and while visiting we decided to learn how to snowboard. While the snow conditions may not be the same in NC as it is up north or out west, this resort was more than enough to quench our... More

We live three hours from Cataloochee and have been quite pleased with this ski resort. Our children have had the time of their lives and find it more and more fun the more we go. The weekends tend to get a little crazy with lots of people, but they manage the lines well and there are many slopes. I tend... More

We went to this resort over Christmas break 2014. When we went, only like 5 slopes were opened and they had fake snow. It was my first time skiing in over 10 years. The prices are cheap, the food was a little on the pricey side. The food area looks kind of like an old skating rink/bowling alley. It is... More

We had 1 experienced skier and 2 beginner skiers. We had the greatest ski instructors, I wish I can remember all their names, maybe Tom. The weather conditions were perfect and we had actual powdery snow. All of the staff was friendly and the rental equipment was good quality. 1 day we also had a really good lunch there, but... More

To our amazement, the ski resort was open even though it was going to reach the mid 70's during our stay!! We traveled from FL seeking a skiing/snowboarding experience. We found it with Cataloochee. During the cold days of snow, they obviously took advantage of making snow when they could. I can officially say, that I had never snowboarded in... More
