OK--so I don't ski --- but my friends and my daughter do so I enjoy taking a ride up the mountain and hanging out when they ski and snow board. There is a nice, big fire in the beautiful fireplace and the hot chocolate and hot buttered rum are worth the trip. See you there! more

This is a great day trip for anyone living in the South who needs a ski-fix. It's a good destination for 1 or 2 days of skiing, but there aren't enough runs for more than that. I took a group to Cataloochee last year during President's Day weekend. Despite the crowds, we had a wonderful time.The've done a great job maintaining this small ski area.
