Only 2 Negatives: (1) Way on the top of the mountain. Steeeep drive. Not really a negative, just a reality you need to know. (2) When it gets packed it is almost unbearable. We were there on a holiday weekend so it was packed with students/youth groups. Other than that, the place itself was a blast. Snowmaking has come a... More

Just amazing! I am from Fl and came up with my 3 year old daughter to see snow. The place we were staying at had no snow and we came up to Cataloochee to see theirs! Can't wait to come back next year and ski with my daughter!

Took Oct through November to book Tube World tickets. Online process was not made avail. Finally purchased tickets with help of staff on the phone. Headed to Maggie Valley with 8 of us on Dec 26th. Received call when we reached Georgia to tell us they would be closed (no cold weather understandable) but to call is when we are... More

I liked the place , high quality ski with multiple slopes. If you plan to go there make sure you don't take a car with low ground clearance as there is a gravel road leading to the ski area! And come with full gear because they don't have jackets/pants/goggles for rent. The lodge is small but enough to have a... More

This is not a bad ski area and they do offer a great package , the slide in 5, but the lodge is very small and needs better facilities. Be prepared for a very crowded experience if you come on a weekend or holiday and don't expect any "fancy" facilities. Not much in changing room or locker rooms, just have... More

This review is just partial as due to the warmest winter anyone can remember, all the slopes were not open and they could not make any new snow. But the people were friendly and the kids had a good time, especially the night skiing. There seems to be enough runs and elevation for average skiers and snowboarders to have fun... More

Close to GA and beautiful mountain drive. Kids can attend ski school for the day while you ski on your own.

My first bit if advice would be do NOT go on the weekend. We have been several times over many years (with and without kids) and we have only had one miserable experience, which was on a weekend. I would also avoid the slopes during the Christmas break & any school holidays for the same reason. If you choose to... More

The best place to ski in be Southeast. They offer a slide n five...Basically five full days of skiing (anytime in the season does not have to be 5 consecutive days) with lessons and at the end you get fitted for elan skis...When you consider 5 days of lift tickets and five days of lessons and brand new skis at... We went there Friday afternoon thinking it was not going to be too busy. The place is small. Not big enough to hold all the people. Specially with small children.
