Our first destination when we arrived in Linville is to visit the Linville River. First we went to where the rapids were located as well as two waterfalls. The ground we were on was fabulous. Unique! The next day we decided to drive up the mountain on a steep pebbled roadway. From there anyone can go down to the river... More

The kids 5-10yrs enjoyed the short hike to the falls and kept wanting to hike. Good trail. Great photo opportunities at the upper falls for group shots.

Well worth the hike to see all of the sights. It was crowded in the parking lot but you had tons of space on the trails. Take a break and hike a bit.

We were traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway and stopped here for a chance to stretch our legs. Long hike to the falls. Beautiful falls at the end of the first trail. Could hike additional to see different view. We did that as well. Off season so we were there with only one other family.

As we made our way through the Blue Ridge Parkway we came to this attraction. My wife coaxed me into walking to the falls so I did. The walk was probably a good 4 tenths of a mile to the lower level. Another 6 or 8 tenths to the next level and the final level was another 4 tenths. After walking... More

Beautiful. Well worth the hike. Easy to moderate trails. Took lots of pictures. Bugs not to bad. Felt good to stretch our legs a little, glad we did it. Sweet lady in the visitor center was very helpful with any questions.

We stayed for a new year's trip in the area a few years ago and really enjoyed the sound of the water at night. The local shop's were good, and exploring the area is fun. I would say that it would definately be more fun in the summer, but was pleasant in the winter.

Well worth the hike, for the coolness and fresh mountain air. You'll never be disappointed, going to the NC Mountains.
