I am fortunate that my home course is a Donald Ross designed course. But, Linville is an early Ross masterpiece carved out of the mountains with mules...no tractors in 1892. They say it hasn't been touched by modern earth moving equipment since. This is a spectacular course, always in great shape and historically ranked in the top ten courses in... More

Had an opportunity to play at Linville Golf Club with the Southern Seniors Golf Association with 91 other folks. The course and facilities are fine. A fun and well kept course designed by Donald Ross with lots of opportunity for shot making and putting. It is a beautiful layout in the mountains. The staff did all they could do to... More

Linville Golf Club is a old-line private golf club of high renown in the NC mountains, but it is open to the public for lunch, and I highly recommend it. You can get casual or fancier fare, but all of it is extremely well done and the service is top notch. In addition, the setting, especially if you are able... More

The club seated the ten in a private room overlooking the golf course and we ordered from a menu with many choices. All the items served were excellent. The service was gracious and after a couple bottles of pretty darn good bubbly everyone ordered a desert as well. This lunch we hosted for friends could not have been better. Golf... More

This is a wonderful Donald Ross golf course (private club but you can play it if you stay at the Eseeola Lodge). Donald Ross was famous for building his courses to fit with the land. He had no choice since the earth moving equipment in the early 20th century was limited.) The greens are crowned (like Pinehurst #2). Visually very... More

We are not golfers and the club is private but it is open for lunch and the Grill is very good. Ask for a table on the veranda if the weather is good, The view of the golf course and the mountains is terrific, Excellent service. Within walking distance of the Eseeola Lodge which is owned by the club.
