It's a nice trip up there, although as you get closer to it, it becomes unpaved and very dusty. There are many different places to access the river. It is a very popular swimming area and rainbow trout fishing area. Please, please don't litter here! There was a bit of a problem with that. Don't be one of those jerks.... More

our family of six boys hiked the Harper falls trail about 1.9 miles one way. The first part is very challenging but then levels out after that and follows the creek for most of the way. The trail ends at the falls which are gorgeous. They're are two ropes to use to get down to the falls, one a bit... More

This used to be the place to take the family for an all day swim, now it is overcrowded and overall dirty. Some of our experiences are better left unmentioned, lets just say it was disgusting on our last visit. its a shame this was such a wonderful place to take a day of relaxation. Kayaking and tubing still would... More

Loved the creek, it was clear and clean with Large boulders. Wish the visitor center had been open because trailheads were not well marked. Good area to get away from everything.

This is part of the Linville River Gorge. This is a gorgeous section of the river. It is great fun to sit on the river and enjoy God's beauty. You can tube down the river. There is also great trout fishing. Be careful to observe the signs as the regulations are not the same for the entire river. The visitors... More

Winter, Summer, Spring, Fall, this has something special in all seasons. Talk about a getaway. This is a go to place. People are friendly and nature is beautiful. I get away to Wilson's Creek as often as I can. They have a couple of small stores to buy drinks and what nots. The creek is more like a river. Make... More

I did the long scenic nature hike on the Harper Creek trail. It's about 8 miles of loop with the awesome view of the South Harper Falls, and several pools to swim in. This place is beautiful and wild. The trail is not very difficult in terms of the terrain but can be tricky finding the route depending on what... More
