Even in the Winter this pier was pretty busy. Several people were fishing and a lot of people were just walking on the pier. If you like to people watch this place may interest you, otherwise not much reason to stop here.

The Kure Beach Fishing Pier is excellent. First of all, it's free to walk on the pier, but before you do that, grab an ice cream cone to enjoy as you stroll along. The wood pier has excellent views of the Atlantic Ocean. It's often visited by pelicans, and it's interesting to see what everyone is catching. Not to be... More

We stopped by the pier at night while visiting beaches. We didn't fish so I don't know how that is. It's comparable to other piers I've walked on. There wasn't a charge and it didn't say no dogs so that was a big plus. People were fishing later on a Wednesday night so it must be good ! The store... More

If you like to fish or watch people fish or watch birds that like to swoop in on people who fish, then this is a really cool pier.

Nice pier to go fishing on, the view was perfect, and the day was perfect ! Sunny with little winds here and there. I just wish that it wasn't 3 hours away !

This is a nice pier to fish from, I'm not sure why else you would go here. I don't believe that you need a fishing license, just a $5 pass from the little store.

Am very impressed that returning after several years of absence- this pier still has family values and has policy in place to make everyone feel safe while there.

The Kure beach pier is by far my favorite pier. You can fish 24/7. It's also great for strolling on a star lit night, watching others fish, or observing other happy people on the beach. There is also a webcam. last time I visited, I called my sister in VT. She and her family were able to see me wave... More

Well...I didn't fish off the pier, but there were about 100 people doing it and they were catching fish...mostly little ones but I saw some bigger ones too. A nice mix of locals and tourists. You can rent a pole and buy bait at the shop...I think the pole rental was $5. Watching was free.
