We took a detour over to Kinston after finishing a half day of cycling in the ride for MS event in New Bern. The tap room is a very cool place - offering great beer in a cool atmosphere, with the surprising treat of excellent live music. We brought in burgers from the Boiler Room across the street. The beer... More

On the way from Raleigh to the beach and finally got a chance to stop at Mother Earth. What took us so long?? Got there early before the evening crowd and sat down at the stainless bar. Very nice setup. Big bar with tables and sofas and chairs surrounding. Also a very nice outdoor area in the back. Very comfortable... More

We recently took a day trip to Kinston to check out a few spots we have been wanting to visit. My husband owns a restaurant and has served Mother Earth beer for a few years. The brewery is located downtown and has greatly helped to revitalize the area. They are in a city block of very cool original warehouse buildings,... More

With a name like Mother Earth you would expect a warm welcoming laid back feeling when you walk into the tasting room. This tasting room brought to mind a clinic. It had a cold un-personal feel to it and the gentlemen that served me were not very friendly either.

But it is! The beers are great, taproom is nice and comfortable. If you want to learn about the brewery or brewing process, take a tour! Occasionally they have a seasonal or specialty beer release party. This is nestled right in downtown next to several outstanding restaurants. Come give it a try and buy a flight to try several!

This place keeps getting more and more interesting. Now you can see the liquor distilling process in addition to the beer brewing. Plus, they've setup the Trading Post which is a gift shop where you can buy all kinds of Mother Earth souvenirs and limited run brews.

We had some time to kill before our dinner reservations and wandered over to Mother Earth Brewing. At first we went to a side door where it said to ring for tours, we rang several times and never got a response so we walked to the taproom. The tour apparently starts there. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable both about... More

What's not to like about visiting a brewery! Been trying to have time to make the trip for two years. The bar was nice and clean with good service. Ordered our favorite mother earth brew and sampled several others. Took a brewery tour. Great visit.

A tour is definitely worth it here, this is one of the few GREEN breweries in the United States. Rainwater cisterns, recycling, and the things you can only dream up in conserving energy. Tap Room looks like a bar in downtown Chicago. High end and makes you just want to sit around and lounge. Oh yeah, the beer is really... More

I was very surprised to find a brewery like this in the city of Kinston. They make all their own beer on site, and usually have four or five regular beers plus a number of specialty or seasonal beers as well. If you want Bud Light or Miller, go to the local sports bar. If you like good tasting, craft... More
