We have been rock climbing in a gym consistently for over a year now. We live in NH, so the outdoor rock climbing near us is still covered in snow. Therefore, we decided to travel to NC for some outdoor rock climbing. After a lot of research, I picked Crowders Mountain out of all the rock climbing locations in NC.... More

Crowders mtn, is a magnificent hike. You have to make the rather steep incline to get to the stairs an see the top. There is also a road that goes tot he radio towers which is less stressful and easier for some hikers, but if you can do the red trail and climb the stairs- WOW it is worth it.... More

A must see! Try Pinnacle Peak for a challenge and beautiful views. There are several hikes to accomodate every fitness level.

Great venue to allow a large group of high school students some free time to blow off excess energy. Many trails to hike, easy access into to park in a tour bus, and a beautiful setting. Information center closed relatively early, and the maps were difficult to follow.

I hiked to the top of King's Pinnacle at Crowders Mountain State Park. We took the orange trail up 2.2 miles to the top and we took the longer, but easier white trail down. The fantastic view from the top is well worth the hike up! From the top, it is possible to see the Appalachian mountains to the west,... More

30-40min away from downtown Charlotte. Good to get out for a couple hours and get outside. Can get very crowded here, and many, many dogs around. Good places for Rock Climbing. Decent hike, nothing extreme, a solid amount for anyone from kids to grandma. Have been here many times. You can see the skyline of Charlotte off in the far... More

We tried Backside trail to the top of the mountain and Crowders trail to come back to the parking. It was a perfect distance hiking course for a family with young kids and we all enjoyed it. After waiting for 10 minutes to find a parking spot, we enjoyed the hike and view. I saw some runners while we were... More

This is a beautiful state park that is well maintained and well ran. The people of King's Mountain are friendly and very helpful and welcoming to travelers. We had many beautiful photos of the park, even though it was raining that day. The town is peaceful and has a lot of interesting history. We do wish we had stayed at... More
