The Pier was amazing and for only $2 it cannot be beat to walk on. We strolled on the Pier and watched what the fishermen & Fisherwomen were catching. We saw Skates and fish and puffer fish and baby sand sharks. It was truly a beautiful Sight! I do not recommend the Arcade in the building. The staff running the... More

This is my fifth summer of randomly visiting the Avalon Pier. Not much has changed. There does appear to be a bar of sorts overlooking the beach and ocean to the left of the service counter. Good place to get out of the sun and swap lies about fish for a few minutes. There may be more arcade games for... More

Costs 2$ to walk out, more if you fish. For two bucks you get a stamp on your hand - "good all day" - that almost immediately spreads like a gangrene all over your upper right appendage. Good walk in a stormy weather with waves rolling under your feet, but when the ocean is calm it could be a rather... More

The Avalon Pier is a fishing pier. Yes, they have arcade games but first and foremost it's a fishing pier. If yours is a fishing family it's a good family place. Ran into a woman who caught her first salt water fish today. Wow. How cool is that? That is the kind of experience I associate with the Avalon Pier.... More

We come here every year and have so much fun while here. We love the cheap fishing rentals and the fact that we are over the ocean fishing. Our little one gets a super big kick out of it and what is best - when we put a dead fish we caught on her line because of her impatience!! We... More

Three days of trying was enough for us. It was kind of crowed for my taste. Its got a nice view and I would bring my kids to try there. Its not a bad spot, just didn't show us any love at the time. Its a hit or miss spot I'd say. Like any fishing spot, its all up to the fish

it was a nice walk but not a must, the kids had a better time playing under and around the area then on it.

it is a pier, nothing fancy, outdated....I have to say that Janette's pier is much more informative and interesting, especially for families....overall I prefer the beach over a pier anytime

We didn't fish, but if you want to that will set you back $10. We just hung out. They sell beer. People fishing weren't too friendly. Good thing I had my buddies there with me! We enjoyed it for about an hour. I think it cost a buck to just go out on the pier. Oh, and did I mention... More

As an amputee I am limited to where I can fish; so I find Avalon Pier a great location for me. If I do not have gear with me, I can rent it!
