Visited this winery on our return to Virginia Beach from the OBX with a group of 8 women. The gift shop is nice but there wasn't a cashier in there or anyone to help. The only guy there was the poor, harried older gentleman behind the bar trying to deal with a difficult computer, customers and actually pour wine for... More

I apologize for your experience at Sanctuary Vineyards recently. Your review is fair in describing some of the difficulties that we experienced last weekend. We typically staff additional tasting room attendants on the weekends and keep an up to date Point-of-Sale System, but had issues with staffing and computers that day, and for that there is no excuse. So, please... More

Just loved this! I think this was my best ever wine tasting and I left with well over one hundred dollars of wine. Can't wait to return. I would recommend this vineyard for a tasting, you will not go wrong.

I always make it a point to stop at Sanctuary Vineyards when I come to visit the Outer Banks. I find that the service is impeccable and the wines are pretty good. It's unusual to think there is a vineyard at the beach and that they can do good wine, but they manage to do both. I like the Costal... More

We try to visit at least one winery when we travel. We discovered Sanctuary on our trip to OBX last summer and are making a special trip back that way this year for the Plank! The whole tasting was great. The staff was very informative and welcoming. The wines were great especially loved the Plank and Sweet Serenity. Staff also gave... More

We visited Sanctuary Vineyards via a "cruise" on a "tri poon" boat from Duck - across the sound from Jarvisburg. The "Vineyard Cruise" was booked through Kitty Hawk Kites store. What a delightful afternoon! The boat leaves Duck at 4 PM and we were back by about 7 PM. Captain Christie was our intrepid leader. After we docked in Jarvisburg,... More

We love to visit wineries and knew this was a must during our stay on the OBX. With the tastings free, how could we resist? When you first walk in, you enter into a mini gift shop that has a bunch of fun wine related items, some we've seen at other wineries we've visited, but also some really cute unique... More

This was our third year of stopping in at Sanctuary Vineyards for their wine tasting. As always, we were treated to a large variety of dry and sweet red and white wines, all of which are of exceptional quality. We went on a Thursday afternoon, and it wasn't very busy. Elton, the server on staff, was both friendly and knowledgeable... More

Loved the sweet wines (they do offer dry too), friendly, knowledge staff, reasonably priced. Also host free music events. Recommend a visit when in town.

We, two couples, went here on a Saturday afternoon. It was very crowded. They had two tasting stations, both were packed. The staff was very busy, with little personal service. The wines were good, and we loved the glasses we got to keep. We will come back on day when it is not so busy. We did buy a couple of... More

Thanks for visiting us at Sanctuary Vineyards, and we are sorry we couldn't offer a more personal wine tasting. We were holding our annual wine and oyster festival that day, and with a full house, we were just trying to keep up! Please accept our apology, as well as an invitation to join us again. Thanks for supporting local wineries! More
